Author's Note:
Ok, I don't even really remember writing this, but I found it in my computer's Fics folder, so I'm assuming it's something I wrote. If not, then someone is stealing my computer and writing FrostIron - which is weird.
It sounds like something I'd write, anyway. Vague memories of writing something similar are slowly coming back to me.
Enjoy.
"You'll be fine – quit whining! You'd think you'd never been sick before!"
Loki just glared at Tony's back as the human walked to the door, "Not since I was a child," he snapped, "and I do not recall it being this unpleasant."
Tony stopped short. Ok, that explained a lot. He turned back to the bed, where Loki lay, miserably curled in on himself. Man, now he felt like an A-grade jerk.
Loki felt the bed dip under Tony's weight as his lover settled down next to him. He felt Tony's hands on his arms, rubbing his skin gently, soothing the prickling heat that made every part of him ache.
"I blame you for this, Tony."
"Why?"
"It must be your Midgardian germs. My body cannot cope with them."
"Poor Lo-Lo," Tony cooed in his ear; Loki enjoyed it more than he would ever let on, "...man, you do feel pretty warm..."
"I'm a frost giant, Tony – I'm not meant to be any warm."
"Ohhh..." another pang of guilt hit Tony, and he placed a gentle kiss on Loki's clammy cheek, breathing in the sick-sweet smell of his fever, "You're gonna be ok Lokes," he reassured, "cos I'm gonna take care of you – all special treatment. I know how much you love that."
Disney DVDs. Lots of Disney DVDs. Pizza, chocolate, and ice cream. Ice cream soothed throats and brought down temperatures – or so Tony had said. Loki just knew that he would bathe in it - if he wasn't afraid of smelling like dairy.
The movies were quite entertaining. Pictures that moved almost by magic. Tales of sorcerors and princes and princesses. Loki was hooked.
He lay nestled in Tony's arms, drifting in and out of sleep. Tony stroked his cheek, and rubbed his shoulders to stop them from tensing. He talked quietly in Loki's ear about anything and everything. He laughed gently at Loki's enchanted and earnest expression when the movies reached particularly magical scenes – the fairy godmother making Cinderella's dreams come true, Rapunzel's glowing hair, Ariel singing 'Under the Sea' – but it was Beauty and the Beast that Loki loved most.
"That's me," he'd whispered, wide-eyed, pointing at the Beast as he was transformed – finally, and just when it seemed bleakest – by love,"You rescued me."
Tony didn't say anything – there was a pain in his throat all of a sudden.
