Right. So I have decided to try this whole thing over. Because, really, my first try sucked, and I am a bit disgraced to have it on my profile. And it's a kinda cute idea and I think it'll be a lot better re-written. And thanks to my betas!! So! On with the first chappie of the Revised and Revisited What A Summer
Sitting at the side of the pool with my new muggle friend was peaceful. Cara was nice enough, and we got on pretty well. Well, until bloody James Potter decided to make his pompous presence known.
"Lily, check out the cute boy with the glasses!" Cara said.
Of course, I didn't know that she was talking about bloody James Potter until I looked up and saw him grinning at me, obviously just spotting me across the pool deck.
"Aw, bloody hell, why does he have to be here!?!?" I said.
"You know him? Are you friends with him? Could you maybe set me up with him? He is really cuteā¦." Cara said.
Just then, Potter decided to walk over and make himself comfortable at the foot of my lounge chair.
"Do you have to be here, Potter? Can't you just leave me alone for once?" I asked him.
"C'mon Lils. I'll never leave you alone. After 6 years, I'd think you would know that by now. Aren't you supposed to be smart?" he shot back.
I scowled. What a right jerk. Never can tell when he's not wanted. He annoys me so much.
"So you do know each other! C'mon Lily, who is this?" Cara asked.
I sigh. "Cara, this is James Potter, my classmate. Potter, this is Cara, my friend. Now that you know each other, can you leave us alone?" I asked Potter.
"It was nice to meet you, Cara. See you around, Lily babe." And finally, he walked away.
"It's gonna be a long summer," I muttered to myself.
"With a boy that cute fawning over you? Lily, if I were in your place, it seem like tomorrow was already the last day!" Cara said.
"If you were in my place, you'd wish tomorrow was the last day," I said.
"Puh-lease. This James Potter sounds like such a charmer. And he really seems to like you. Why don't you go out with him? I'm sure he's asked you by now!"
"Come on, Cara. James Potter is an arrogant bastard. He's only after the chase!" I said. "He's used to getting what he wants, and once he gets me, as if I would let him, he'll be over and done with me in a couple of weeks. I would never go out with him!"
"Poor, delusional Lily. It'll be okay. You'll realize your mistakes eventually." Cara said with a grin.
I just scowled at her. Poor, delusional Cara, more like it.
Well. Tell me what you think. I wanna thank my betas callernumber16onz100 and islington bus no. 199 for doing another great job, and making this so much easier!! The next chapter will be up as soon as possible and I greatly appreciate reviews. ;)
