A/n: Sorry I haven't written in a while. I've had ridiculous amounts of school work, and I've had to do ridiculous amounts of travel, and I've had a ridiculous case of writer's block, and I'll just start the story now. This is set after the singing towers, by the way. As for Amy & Rory, let's say their off on a date night. Anything in italics means Doctor's thoughts.

Disclaimer: No, my Christmas wish didn't come true, I DO NOT own Doctor Who.

The Doctor set the TARDIS to random, although she did that on her own quite nicely, and sat back for a quiet journey. When the TARDIS stopped making that metal-on-metal sound he loved, he popped his head out of the blue door of the police box and saw a regular, human club.

I've never been to one of these! I'll have a new experience!

He walked in and sat down at the bar, taking his time to survey his surroundings. All of a sudden, a blonde girl of about twenty that he recognized appeared out of nowhere. She was holding what appeared to be a large black box and was wearing a blue leather jacket. Once she looked around, she sighed heavily and, after pressing a few buttons on what the Doctor knew was her dimension cannon, leaned against the wall. He braced himself and crossed the club quickly.

"I know how you feel," he said with a mixture of sympathy and knowing.

"No you don't!" she shouted with sudden anger," You could never know how I feel! I've been searching for the man I love for almost two years! And I still haven't found him."

After saying her last sentence, she burst into tears. The Doctor slowly took her into his arms for the first time in three years. And she let him. As he stroked her hair, he whispered comforting words into her ear. Once she had stopped sobbing quite so hard, he started speaking in a normal tone.

"You know, I was looking for the girl I loved for about two years, and then she found me. I stayed with her for one night, and then I let her be taken away from me. I've never forgiven myself for that. I'm looking for her now."

He wasn't sure if he wanted to go on this quest. He had said it mostly in the heat of the moment. After all, the last time he had seen this girl in his arms, she had had someone else to love. But he didn't have any more time to think about it because she had stopped crying, and was now looking up at him.

"Wow," she said," sounds like you really love her."

"Yes I do," he stated frankly.

Suddenly, her black box beeped.

"Oh, um, that's my ride," she mumbled awkwardly. "Thank you for taking my mind off my troubles, even if it was just for a little while. Maybe someday you'll find her."

Then she was gone. Vanished without a trace.

"Yeah, someday," the Doctor murmured to the space where Rose Tyler, his Rose had stood just seconds before.

With that, he spun on his heel, marched back to the TARDIS, went inside, and found Rose's old room. Once he was inside, he fell asleep, breathing in her scent. As he slept, he dreamt of the last night his tenth regeneration stood by Rose's side.

Someday…someday he'd find her again.

Someday.
