Chapter 1 – Really?
"Seriously, Guys?" Lily asked, with an annoyed expression spreading across her face. She looked up at Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, wondering what the hell was so funny. They had been laughing for at least five minutes straight, ever since she finished her homework. Then she heard a noise coming from the staircase to the boy's dorms, and had a pretty good feeling of how it was, since 5th years were the only ones that didn't have classes that hour. "Oh, god." She murmured as she turned to face the door.
Seconds later, the door opened and she saw James Potter, probably the person she hated the most. Well, who she had hated the most, until about three days ago. Right now she was pretty damn pissed at Severus Snape."What do you want?" She asked, still irritated. She hated feeling like this, not knowing what was about to happen.
Behind her, she could still hear Remus and Sirius snickering, so she turned around and glared at them. It seemed to do the trick. Turning back, she was about ready to glare at James, and sat down next to the fire place. She loved the Gryffindor common room, it felt more like home then hre actual home did now a days, her sister shunning her all the time.
"Remus, Sirius, leave!" Lily and James both said at the same time, as they had started again. James blushed, and Lily just looked deadly.
Remus and Sirius swiftly ran up the staircase to their dorm, still laughing. Lily let out a slight sigh of relief when she heard the door close, and the laughter go silent. Then she looked back at James. "Now really, what do you want?"
James gulped, and hesitated a bit. "I was just wondering…" he trailed off a bit, looking down at his shoes. "If after the other day…" his voice seemed to be failing him. "you might have changed your mind, and would say yes if I asked you out again?" He looked up at her sheepishly.
"Again, Potter, really?" Lily said, trying to hold back a laugh. "It was partially your fault, whether you came to comfort me or not. Your. Fault." She said with a more serious tone.
James looked at the floor again. "So, I am guessing that's a no?" he asked, still in disbelief.
"You guessed correctly." Lily said before picking up her book and beginning to read again. Hogwarts, A History was actually quite interesting.
James sighed and wondered if he should go back to his dorm, or sit here awkwardly. Either way, he would have to deal with people, which he really didn't want to do at the moment. After a few seconds, he decided to go back to his dorm.
Turning on his heels, he headed for the dorm. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. He wasn't sure when he would try again, but he knew he would.
