Hello Again! Apart from continuing my Dr Who fic 'A Forgotten Past' (co-written with the amazing agapi16), this is my first attempt at Dr Who/Torchwood fanfiction. I am an avid fan of Dr Who / Torchwood (bordering on obsessive!) and this is just a drabble based on two lines from the latest episode (They Keep Killing Suzie). The first (and second) lines are quotes.Sorry if the first quote is a bit off. It's an approximation of what was said.
WARNING - Spoilerish, but only for two lines that were spoken - not the actual plotline!
Dedicated to truerockstar and agapi16 for being amazing!
There's something in the dark, Jack. It's moving. It's coming for you.
Death By Torchwood.
A slow death, a death that hangs like a stench in the air around you, piercing through the excitement.
Death By Torchwood
The inevitable. In the job description. Ending up in the icy morgue, only one of the many that lost the battle.
Death By Torchwood.
The time when you don't notice when there is one less face at work. Or the time when you do notice, but you don't say anything. For fear that one day, it will be you.
Death By Torchwood
All consuming. A separate life. A short life. That can be brutally cut off at any point the fates decide. You can bring back the dead. But only for two minutes.
Death By Torchwood
Maybe it is fate. Maybe from the moment you were born, your destiny was this? To defend the Earth. To sacrifice everything for the greater good.
Death By Torchwood.
You can be gone in a flash, a stray bullet, a rogue alien. So many near misses and half chances that it just becomes part of your life. Whatever life you have left.
Death By Torchwood.
They can just pack you away in a box. Lock your belongings away in a storage depot. Wipe the records clean. It's as if you never existed. That's all we become in the end... Just boxes locked up in some garage.
Death By Torchwood
Excitement. Adrenaline. The chance to be part of something more.
Death By Torchwood
Nightmares lurk behind every corner. Screams, tragedy haunts your life. The voices of your companions work their way into your dreams. A warning. It's too late to turn back.
Death By Torchwood.
I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
R AND R!
