Kairi watched the vast ocean as she sits on the edge of the shore.. Alone she's been, for the past year. Nothing from Sora or Riku. Nothing… I never thought I'd end up being alone. Was a thought she pondered daily. Her hopeful heart told her that she'd see them again, but she still was lonely. After all, she is only human, right? Sighing, she stands and approaches the secret place. She kept her normal posture; left hand grasping her right wrist behind her back. Once again, she entered the cavern of her childhood memories alone. Kairi watched the scribblings on the walls, walking past them slowly. Her deep blue eyes fell on the one scribbling that makes her heart overwhelm with both joy and pain at the same time. She laid a hand on the old scribbling that she and Sora originally started when they were younger. Kairi and Sora had completed it a year ago with the finishing touch, the sharing of a paopu fruit. She remembered the day when she first saw it, the day that all the worlds that were once gone restored. How tears of happiness and relief ran down her face, tears that told her that Sora will return one day… Oh how she has been waiting for that day. Kairi began to rise to her feet, but stopped short when she was startled by a voice behind her. It was eerily familiar to her, yet this voice was horse, dry, and worn. It was the voice of a man. "Hopelessly staring at what will never be." it shot at her, bringing anger to her kind heart. Kairi whirled around to counter, but instead of seeing this man who has intruded on her thoughts, she saw nothing. She was indeed the only being in that cave. Could she have been merely imagining things? If that was true, then she was giving up firm hope that her beloved would truly become hers one day, and the hope of seeing her other dear companion, Riku. Sora's promising words rang through her head. I'll come back for you. I promise. that scene had replayed through her mind every day since he was gone from her. And her confirming response. I know you will. and at that moment he was broken away from her, and that was when the world that she always wanted to be able to come back to was restored. But not completely restored to Kairi. Two very important pieces are missing, and she doesn't have a way to search for them… Kairi moved out of the secret place. She noticed some shouting coming from the shore, seeing Wakka and Tidus pointing to the sky. "It's a meteor shower!" she heard Tidus cry, staring at the light-ridden sky with more awe than his unknowing eyes could handle. Kairi also looked to the sky, and she knew what she saw was no meteor shower. Could this be?
