The young cat hanyou restlessly rolled in her sleep. The same dream was bothering her, taking her through a world of silent torture. It happened at least once a year, always on her brothers death anniversary. And it was always the same, her leaning over her brother, crying, as he spoke his last words,

"Rai, don't cry. Make sure you take care of mother for me, ok? And never forget that I will always be with you. No matter what….." hes eyes turned lifeless and she let out a sob.

Screaming his name, begging for him to come back. Then she was on a path. This had never happened before. Why was there something different? Rai woke suddenly, the memory of the path still in her head.

"The Old Way Path….." she whispered.

It was dark and quiet most everyone had gone to sleep except Inuyasha and Kagome.

"Inuyasha, have you ever been to Shinoku before?" Kagome asked.

"Hm? oh, no. I've never been this far East before. Why?" Inuyasha answered.

"Just wondering. Shouldn't we have been there by now?" she asked.

"if we're not there tomorrow we'll ask somebody for directions." He said gruffly.

I wonder why he is so annoyed lately… Kagome wondered, but her thoughts didn't last long before she fell asleep. The next morning the group started off early. A thick fog seemed to cling to everything.

"We're never going to find our way through this." Sango said.

"Maybe we should wait until the fog clears…." Miroku suggested.

"We really need to hurry though, we were suppose to have been there yesterday." Kagome said.

"Yes, I suppose your right." Miroku sighed. After awhile, a shape appeared in the fog.

"Look! There is someone up ahead. Maybe they can tell us where Shinoku is." Kagome exclaimed.

"Hey, Inuyasha?" Kagome asked.

"What?" Inuyasha replied in his annoyed tone.

"Could you-" But she was cut off short as Miroku landed on top of her and Sango.

"MIROKU!" Sango and Kagome yelled in unison. Inuyasha helped Kagome up.

"ow, I swear I didn't mean to!" he said in defense. "I think I sprained my ankle."

"Great. Inuyasha, could you go see if that person knows where Shinoku is and how far it is from here?" Kagome asked.

"Do I have a choice?" He said agitated. "I'll be back." Inuyasha took off into the fog. He slowed once he came nearer to the person. It was a girl, a cat hanyou. Probably about Kagome's age, except a little taller. She had short, light pink, slightly curly hair with deep crystal blue eyes. She had two small black ears that poked through. She wore a sword on her hip and she also carried a bow and arrow. She was slim but not skinny. Inuyasha saw her raise her bow as he approached, ready to release if need be. It was aimed right at Inuyasha's heart.
