Castiel sat alone at the table, setting up a board game called Uno Wild Tiles. Dean walked over to the table.
" Cas, I need a wingman."
"Dean..." Castiel protested.
" You don't want to jump into the jaws of death that's...fine..." Cas paused and looked up at the hunter. "How 'bout we run a little errand?
Cas transported them to an open garage with a covered car inside. It was dark outside, and the old garage seemed lonely.
"Thanks for the lift," Dean said, glancing at the tarp covered car.
Castiel stood in front of him, hands in his pockets. "My pleasure... Dean-"
"Cas. We've been over it, I get it, you can't help."
Castiel hesitated for a second. "If we attack Dick, and fail, you and Sam die heroically, correct?"
"I dunno, I guess." Dean replied, staring intently at the angel.
"At best, I die trying to fix my own stupid mistake, or..." Cas rolled his eyes, "I don't die... I'm brought back again. I see now, it's a punishment resurrection, it's worse every time." He looked away while he spoke.
"Y- I'm sorry, ar-uh, we're talking about god crap, right?"
"I'm not good luck, Dean." Cas said, looking into Dean's eyes.
Dean wiped his hand across his mouth briefly, before replying, "Yeah, but you know what? Bottom of the ninth, and you're the only guy left on the bench? Sorry, but I'd rather have you...Cursed or not... And anyway, nut up, alright? We're all cursed. I seem like good luck to you?"
Castiel just looked at Dean with an amused look on his face. Dean tilted his head to the side, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What?" He asked. Cas smiled wider, and looked down.
"Well, I don't want to make you uncomfortable...but I believe I am very lucky to have you..."
" Cas ... what are you trying to say here?"
"I wish to make a proposition."
The hunter's eyebrows raised. "What is it?
"Dean... If we do not successfully defeat the Leviathan...I want you to know that I have grown very fond of you. And that I care a great deal about you." Cas looked into his eyes again as he spoke. "And if we do happen to successfully defeat them, I would like to take you somewhere special."
"Okay. I'll hold you to that, Cas. After we gank this son of a bitch, you're taking me on a long needed vacation." Dean took a step closer to the angel, his rare smile showing. Cas nodded, a smile forming on his face as well. "You know, me and Sam...We're a family. But it wouldn't be the same without you. You're part of the family now, too... Maybe even more than family." He muttered the last part as he hugged Cas tight.
Castiel took a step back and peered into Dean's eyes the way he always does.
"Cas, what is it? Why do you always look at me like that?"
"Dean...I-"
"Spit it out, Cas. We don't have much time."
Cas looked into Dean's eyes another moment, before leaning forward and pressing his lips to his. Dean's eyes widened for second, before he kissed the angel back. After a beautiful moment, Dean pulled back.
"Cas, I feel the same way."
"This makes me very happy, Dean." Dean laughed, and kissed the angel again. No matter what lay ahead for them, they knew they had each other.
