A/N: Ok, story, yada yada yada, all that jazz, anything you don't recognise is mine. Blah blah blah. Ok.
Sam Winchester walked into the new school in a small town called New Salem, Massachusetts. The first thing he did, of course, was bump into a girl passing by. She quickly grabbed her books and was about to leave when Sam reached out.
"I'm really sorry about that. I'm Sam, by the way."
"A-Aniyah. I should... I should go."
He had ended up getting paired up with him in Science class. She was actually really good, and they chatted as they worked. He found out that she was a foster child with her younger brother, Malik. She and her brother were Native American. After a long day of classes, Sam was headed out when he saw two of the older boy tossing something back and forth over her head. A beaded necklace with some sort of charm on it. Sam ran towards them and grabbed it from midair.
"Leave her alone!"
The bullies ran away.
Aniyah smiled slightly at Sam, saying, "Thank you, Sam. My Aluli gave it to me before she... Before she passed."
"Aluli?" Sam asked.
"Mother. It's Cherokee for Mother."
"So, if you don't mind me asking, what is it?"
"It's a necklace my Aluli made for me one Christmas when I was a little girl. She had disappeared for hours each day, and only on Christmas did I realize why. It's all I could save of hers. Everything else was sold."
"So, did you live here all your life?"
"No, I used to live in Cherokee land, over in Oklahoma, but God now, until my brother and I get moved or I get old enough to leave, we'll be living here. Once I'm old enough, I'm gonna move away with Malik and go back to Oklahoma."
"Well, maybe someday I'll meet you there. My family moves around a lot, but I'm thinking of not joining our family business and going to college. After college, how about I go after you? Try to find you?"
Aniyah smiled. "I'd like that."
She started to leave, but he grabbed her arm and she winced. He frowned and pulled up her long sleeve shirt, revealing scars and bruises of all sizes.
"What is all of this?" Sam asked with a gasp.
She gave him a sad smile. "The reason I want to go to Oklahoma."
She left, and he didn't see her again. He assumed that she had been moved to a new foster home. After a while, she had sort of faded to the back of his mind, but when her memory came back, it came back with a vengeance. He never knew that he'd ever meet her again.
A/N: ok, so that was the story. If you're reading this, say in a review, "H2CO3". That Carbonic Acid. Cause, ya know. Ok, BAI!
