Rachel woke up to the birds chirping and sunshine flooding her room. Today was going to be a great day. It was Sunday, the day after Regionals. You would think that someone like Rachel Berry would still be severely depressed about losing and glee club being cancelled, but she wasn't. Don't get me wrong, she was still disappointed, but she wasn't as sad because she had something else in her life to look forward to. Finn Hudson. The same guy that she had been chasing after for almost a year, the one that has used her and broken her heart, and the one that admitted he was in love with her. On the bus ride home, she had told him that she loved him too, and they shared a few kisses before going home. Today, she was supposed to go over his house and hangout with him. She was extremely nervous; she had never really hung out with people before, but she had to put that thought behind her. Right now she had to get ready.
She arrived at Finn's house at ten a.m. She tried knocking on the door, but got no answer. A feeling of doubt increased with every knock that wasn't answered. Scary thoughts began to cross her mind, 'What if he decided that he would rather have a cheerio?' 'What if he had only said I love you to enhance the performance at Regionals?' She had to shake her head and try to think more realistically. Problem was, those thoughts were realistic. Finn Hudson was a popular, cute, quarterback that tortured people like her. She was a lonely loser that was slushied daily. For him to love her was very unreasonable. That's when she decided she had to find out what was really going on. She pulled out her cell phone and called his house.
"What?" a groggy voice, thick with sleep asked.
"Finn?" Rachel asked quietly.
Finn immediately sat up in bed when he realized it was Rachel calling. "Yeah, Rach?"
"Can you let me in, we have to talk."
"Oh okay, I didn't even realize you were here. Sorry if I kept you waiting, I was still sleeping."
The door swung open to reveal Finn in basket ball shorts and a baggy tee shirt. He hung up the phone and pulled Rachel into an embrace. "Hi" he smiled.
"Hello, Finn." She said quietly.
"What's wrong babe?" Finn asked as he pulled out of the hug so he could see her face more clearly.
"Why did you tell me you loved me?"
"What?" Finn asked dumbfounded. "Umm, I guess I told you because I love you and I wanted you to know that."
"Are you sure?"
"What is this about? Why wouldn't I be sure?"
"You didn't say it to make our performance more believable at Regional's or anything like that did you?"
"What! Why would I do something like that? Of course not. I said I love you because it's the truth and I thought I might let you know."
Rachel smiled a little bit. She was glad about this part, but still had some questions to ask. "I love you too."
"What's wrong now?" Rachel smiled at the fact that Finn could immediately tell when something was up with her.
"Well, I just keep having this thought that you're going to leave me for a cheerleader."
"Are you serious?" Finn asked. He grabbed her chin and tilted her head up so he was looking directly into his eyes.
"It makes perfect sense. I'm a loser and you're the complete opposite. You can't say that that's impossible because you've already done it once. Remember, you dumped me and went out with Brittany and Santana. How can I measure up to them! Why would you want me when you could have two cheerios?"
"Rachel, babe, you are better than whole cheerleading team combined. They're the ones that can't measure up. I love you so much it scares me sometimes. I will never leave you, ever again. I promise."
Rachel smiled and reached up to give him a kiss. "I love you too, with all my heart."
"That's good." Finn replied as he leaned down for another kiss.
