A World Without Ninja
xxx
Sometimes, you wonder who you will become if you are not a ninja.
xxx
Perhaps you will become a poet.
You have always been an old-fashioned romantic at heart.
You will write poetry about hope, dream and love.
Until war arrives and all you see is pain and suffering.
Then you start writing poetry about war, death and despair.
xxx
Perhaps you will become a carpenter.
You have always been good with your hands.
You will build furniture, shops and houses.
Until war arrives and your house burns like the rest of your village.
Then you start making coffins and bury the dead.
xxx
Perhaps you will become a monk.
You have always been wise beyond your age.
You will preach about forgiveness, good deeds and salvation.
Until war arrives and every monk in your shrine are slaughtered.
Then you start picking up weapon and fight.
xxx
In the end, it won't make any difference if you are a ninja or not.
There is always war.
And war is merciless.
It takes lives and changes lives.
Only when there is peace, can you truly become who you want to be.
xxx
That night, you lie down on your bed and dream of a world without ninja.

A/N: I wrote this with the image of Kakashi in mind. But it is anonymous, so it can be anyone you imagine it to be. I'm in the mood to write drabble. Like it? Hate it? Do let me know.
