John and Sherlock were in the cab ride back to Baker st. after picking up the child they had adopted. It was surreal after months of paper work and e-mail and picture exchanges between the mother and them. John and Sherlock finally had the little girl they had dreamed off for so lying in their arms and everything was perfect.

"What are we going to name her?" Sherlock asked. They had talked about baby names for months but never picked a specific one for the child. They always ended up with a list too long unable of narrowing it to anything less than ten to twenty names before giving up.

"I don't know" answered John looking at the sleeping baby in his arms; half listening to his husband.

"How about Melody? has a nice ring to it" said Sherlock in a low tone not wanting to awake the child.

"We are not naming our daughter after the victim of your first crime scene Sherlock!" protested John

"All right I was just saying. If you don't like it what do you suggest John?"

John thought for a minute and said "How about Amelia?"

"Amelia?" repeated Sherlock softly

"Yes, I like the sound of it. Amelia Watson Holmes" sounds nice John.

John smiled at Sherlock and said "All right then Amelia it is"

As they chose the child name they arrived to Baker St. John went ahead with Amelia as Sherlock payed the cab fair for once.

Upon their arrival at the flat they were greeted by a very exited Mrs. Hudson ready to meet the new member or the household.

"John, Sherlock you are home! Let me see the precious angel."

John chuckled at Mrs Hudson reaction and carried sleeping Amy over for the landlady to see.

"John she's beautiful dear, Have you decided on a name yet?"

"We actually did on the ride here Mrs Hudson. We are naming her Amelia."

"Amelia that's a lovely name dear"

As just was going to answer Amy awoke and started to cry.

"I'll get it John." said Sherlock going into the baby bag John was carrying on his back.

"hush little Amy it's okay darling, it's okay"

As john was trying to calm the crying child Sherlock pulled out a bottle of formula from the bag and said "Here John give me Amy to feed her"

John was uncertain it was a good idea for Sherlock to feed new born Amy. But he didn't want to pop Sherlock's bubble as he looked so exited about been a dad.

John handed Amy to Sherlock who skillfully grabbed the new born's head fist followed by the body. He placed the bottle gently to Amy's lips and started to feed the child. once she was finished he placed her on his shoulder and burped her as if he had done it a million times before. John and Mrs Hudson watched him in awe amazing by Sherlock's parental instincts.

After feeding Amelia Sherlock rocked her back to sleep. John picked up the sleeping child and carried her to the crib they had installed in Sherlock's old room.
