Summary - As shippy as it was - what with "John getting in a lucky shot" and Ronon finding out if Jenn's interested in John et al, I just had to go make it a bit shippier. You do know it was a nightmare, right? That hasn't changed.

He tried to stay awake. Any chance to bask in her presence was to be taken full advantage of. Unfortunately, between hacking through a jungle, sparring with Sheppard, and Jennifer's calming influence, it all coaxed Ronon to sleep.

He was back on Sateda. Before. Before everything and holding Melena. Ah, Ancestors, he'd almost forgotten how good that felt. He tucked her closer to his heart. Just as the forgotten feeling of contentment settled over him, the dream changed.

Wraith had razed the city. Ronon was furiously trying to get to the wards. She was there. Ronon had to get her to safety.

Jennifer was working desperately on a child when he found her. "Com'on. It's time to go." Ronon tried dragging her away.

"Ronon, I can't. She needs me." Jennifer jerked away from him and turned back tothe girl.

A wraith beam flashed through the room and dropped two drones. Ronon lifted his weapon and easily killed the one closest to him. Children all around him were screaming. By the time he turned to deal with the other wraith, it fed on Jennifer. She aged right before his eyes. Ronon lifted his pulse rifle and shot the wraith.

Ronon ran and caught her before she fell. "Don't die, Jennifer. Please, don' t die."

"Love you, Ronon. Always." Jennifer breathed her last. And the dream changed again.

Sheppard - but somehow not Sheppard - was saying something. Not that it mattered much. Jennifer was dead. "Sorry, there, Ronon. Our leader doesn't feel like taking in any strays right now. Guess you're still on the run."

Overhead he heard the whine of wraith darts. Ronon raced for the Ring of the Ancestors and pressed the symbols for yet another planet. He didn't know whether to hope for anything anymore. A wraith stunner blast flew over his head, and he ran.

Ronon woke with a start. "I'm really sorry. Did I...did I hurt you?" Ronon was still trying to get his bearings. Jennifer was searching him. Worried something more might be wrong.

"Um, no. No. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..." A dream. It was a dream Ronon. None of that really happened.

"You fell asleep." Ronon could tell that she was still concerned for him. And when was the last time that happened.

"I was having the strangest dream." Again he trailed off trying to put the dream in perspective of reality.

"Are you sure you're ok?" Jennifer seemed hesitant.

"Yeah. I'm fine."
