Awkward Doorways

Saix was starving.

He and the Superior had been holed up down in Vexen's lab for a day and a half, examining and discussing the results of a recent experiment with the Academic.

After 36 hours of no nourishment, Saix was fairly sure that his stomach was beginning to devour itself.

The lunar man had managed to sneak away when his comrades were in a heated discussion, and he was now headed to the kitchen.

He halted briefly just outside the doorway, for he heard voices.

Peeking around the doorframe, he saw Axel, seated on the table and swinging his legs to and fro. Roxas rested in a chair near the table, head propped up on his hand as he blinked up at his friend.

"…And then," Axel was saying, "Xaldin just barely got us out of a real bad situation. Man, that goat was so pissed, 'specially after I torched his albino gorilla fur carpet…" He trailed off, shaking his head at the memory.

Saix blinked as Roxas said skeptically, "This all happened in an Agrabah market?"

In the hall, the blunette's eyes widened as he realized that Axel wasn't just making up some story for his friend.

"Well duh. But then, he managed to beat down the demon fairies attacking us, while I staved off the guards, who seemed to think that Zexion was their princess in disguise."

"Geez, man, you coulda re-died!"

"Yeah, but all I ended up with was a nasty slice across my back from a sword and a couple burns through my coat and skin."

"Dude! Lemme see!"

Axel leapt off the table and made like he was going to unzip his coat.

Saix, however, never saw the proof of the adventure.

Walking away with his mouth agape, Saix suddenly wasn't hungry anymore.

The End

A/N: I scribbled this down on a 40-minute car-ride somewhere, seeing as the plot-bunny attacked me. Saix is still traumatized. I realize that the spacing/paragraph orientation is strange, but it seems to fit the randomness of the story. Please read, review, and enjoy!
