She woke up with a small cry. She pushed herself up, and pulled her hair away from her face. She climbed out of the bed, and sat at her desk. She opened the latest issue of 'Transfiguration Today' and started to read. After a few moments, she gave up and leaned against the back of the chair.
She was terrified. She hid it from the students, of course. It wouldn't do for them to see any of the professors, especially the deputy headmistress, scared, but they all were. They all knew how the attacks had ended last time. None of them had really known Myrtle, but if it ended the same way, they knew all of the students.
The nightmares flowed through her mind again. Walking into a restroom. Seeing feet and the end of a robe lying on the ground. Not petrified, but dead.
She shook the images away. It couldn't end that way this time. Could it?
I'm reading CoS right now, and figured that, even though the professors seemed to be hiding their fear, they must have been scared. I do not own Harry Potter.
