Well, I read some recent Royai fluff and I got to thinking, "What if Riza didn't remember Roy from childhood because he didn't look like Roy?" Yeah…. I have a really messed up imagination….. (I do not own any of the FMA story or characters, though the story that follows is my own).

In the present time, Riza is 6 years old and even back then; she was a bit tough on other people. She is in the yard of her father's ranch house, exploring, when she hears a girly scream.

"Aaaaaaah!"

Riza quickly spun her head around, in the direction of the scream. She saw nothing but a big oak tree and the few bushes that surrounded it. She was going to dismiss it as quickly as it came. Just one problem, though. Soon after the scream, came the whimpering. It sounded like a mixture of hiccups and cries. Riza slowly walked over to the giant oak tree. As she got to the other side of it, she found a little girl in a white dress with jet black hair hugging her knees and sobbing. Riza was never really concerned with other kids' feelings, even at school, so Riza hadn't a clue what do in this situation but she couldn't just stand there and watch her cry. So Riza, as best she could, put her arm around the girl's shoulder.

Startled by the sudden contact, the girl looked straight up at Riza. Her eyes were deep blue with specks of black and the ends were lined with mascara and it still looked good even as some of it dripped down her blush-covered cheeks and she had her short hair put up into two pigtails. As she spoke, her voice was interrupted by hiccups.

"Who –HIC- who are you?" her voice squeaked.

"My name's Riza. Why are you crying?" Riza asked.

"My sisters were –HIC- being really mean to me…." she sobbed.

"What do you mean? Were they teasing you or hitting you?"

"No….. they were….. they were…"

"They were what?"

"Oi! Roya-chan! Where did you go?" a voice called.

Right then, the girl's face lost all of its color.

"Yeah!" called another voice. "We weren't done playing yet!"

"Th-they are here!" the girl squeaked as she hid behind one of the roots of the oak tree that was sticking out of the ground.

"Oi!" called an older girl that appeared from a bush. "Hey, you there! Girl! Have you seen a little kid running around in a little white dress?"

"Uh…" Riza said.

"Hey, Charlotte! Over here! I found 'em!" called another girl on the other side of the oak tree.

"L-let go, Brenna!" squeaked the girl as Brenna her picked up from behind the root.

"But we weren't done with your make-over!" whined Brenna.

"I told you countless times! I don't want a make-over!" cried the girl.

"Come-on, Roya-chan! You'll look so cute!" insisted Charlotte.

"Don't call me that!" whined the girl.

"Come on!" Brenna said as she picked up the little girl and carried her away with Charlotte close behind her.

"You make such a cute little girl!" Brenna squealed.

"WHAT?"

And as for Riza, she was left behind from all the commotion, still standing beside the oak. She couldn't help but wonder though….

"What was that all about?"
