Self Worth

I write this today because even the brightest of personalities,

Even the most positive of people have those days.

Those days where everything just seems a lot darker,

Where no matter how hard you try and look up at the sun,

Life comes around like a mad dog owner and rubs your face in all the shit at your feet.

Eventually you get to the point where you stop trying to look up,

Even if it is just for one day.

Reason being,

Your self worth.

You don't feel like you deserve to look at the sun,

You deserve to be hit,

You deserve to be yelled at,

Told you're bad,

Told you're worthless,

And even kicked out for what feels like an eternity.

And who decides self worth?

We all know who,

Because we've been told who time and time again.

Ourselves.

It doesn't matter who you are,

Where you live,

What you do,

How you treat others,

You are the Defense,

Prosecution,

Judge,

Jury,

Even a witness,

And for damn sure an executioner.

Those who know me,

And know me well,

Know I have little to no self worth.

They don't like that,

But it's the way I've been for longer than all except my family have known me.

But I write this to tell all who have read this far,

That I may be a hypocrite for saying this,

But no matter how little you think of yourself,

No matter how hard it is to see what your are worth,

You mean something to someone.

And I don't just mean family,

Nor do I only mean me.

There is someone in your life right now,

That even if they don't always act like it,

Even if you don't see it,

You mean the world to them.

And they would do anything to help you see yourself through their eyes.

So no matter how much your hurting,

No matter how many times life hits you down,

A down day is ok,

But don't let it decide who you are and what you're worth,

Because you're worth a hell of a lot to someone,

And that means a hell of a lot these days.
