The Doctor flipped a few switches, and winced in pain.
"Please!" he gasped. "Just two more!" the Tardis dematerialized, and materialized somewhere else. He was slightly shocked when the door opened a few seconds later.
"Grandfather!" cried a pixieish girl with black hair, and brown eyes. When her eyes found the Doctor, she gasped. "You've regenerated!" the Doctor nodded.
"Twelve times," the girl gasped.
"You're on your last!" the Doctor smiled painfully.
"Not for long, Susan," Susan gasped when she saw the golden energy flowing just beneath the Doctor's skin. Tears dripped from her eyes.
"You-your dieing!" she cried. The Doctor nodded.
"Yeah," Susan ran up to him, her head only just reaching his neck, and hugged him.
"I've missed you, Grandfather," she whispered. The Doctor chuckled.
"I'd prefer Gramps," Susan looked up in shock, then smiled.
"You're not as uptight," she noted. The Doctor smiled wider.
"Yup!" he said, popping the 'p'. "Argh!" he gasped in pain.
"Grandfather!" she cried, and the Doctor grimaced.
"I don't have much time," he confessed. "After you, there's still one more I have to see, before I go," the Doctor pulled away. "I'm going to finish getting my reward,"
"Susan!" a man called, running into the Tardis with a little boy in his arms.
"'Ello David!" the Doctor said cheerily, before he groaned in pain. "Who's the little tike?" Susan smiled.
"Our son, Nathan," the Doctor smiled.
"That makes him my great-grandson!" he said. He walked over to David and Nathan. He kissed Nathan on the forehead. "Goodbye," he said. Susan smiled at him.
"Goodbye," she blinked away tears. "You better come back!" she threatened. The Doctor chuckled.
"I will, Susan. I promise, I will," tears glistened in his eyes. "I swear to you, on everything that has ever mattered, I will come back," Susan gave her grandfather one last hug. The Time Lady, her human husband, and their half-and-half child stepped out of the Tardis.
"Goodbye!" Susan called. The Doctor smiled widely.
"Goodbye," the door closed behind her, and the Doctor set in coordinates. He smiled to himself. He pulled the lever, and started dematerializing on New Years Day. What year though, he didn't know. He muttered to himself.
"My granddaughter,"
