This poem is about many things. I found it hard to give it a good title.
I actually support GuyxPriscilla, but I suppose HeathxPriscilla is a lot easier to write, in terms of the mood it gives you. Hope you like this poem.
Flight of Fantasy
Not long ago
We walked side by side, in descending starlight
Over the grass, bright in the moon
Your voice giving me calm and joy
Lilting as you spoke with a smile
-
Not long ago
You were fearless, caring not for authorities—
You said that when the chains of law had fallen away,
You had felt freer than you ever had
You said, "It doesn't matter what others think."
Love came before everything
-
Not long ago
You finally held me close, speaking of love
You stayed by me like a gentle guardian in battle
Took my hand when the night veiled us all
And we danced beneath the sky, without music
Guided by true love itself
-
I returned it in every way I could
We flew through the silver night on battle-worn wings
Escaping, for moments, from the roads
From the dust of war and rules and anger
We soared away, building a perfect world for ourselves
In the sky, a world which lasted us a few minutes
A few stunning, breathtaking minutes
That seemed endless.
-
But now you shrink from me
Step farther as I come close
Your eyes are submission, resignation
All your freedom vanished, as our time ends
-
Where has your love for flying gone?
You no longer long for freedom
The rules have reclaimed you once more.
And though I hate to admit that it is true,
-
We're divided by more than just a row of mountains
Nation, race, status—
A gap too wide to cross,
A gap even flight can never overcome.
-
To where have those times vanished?
They were so sweet,
And yet I know it is time to forget
You know that there is no way out
I must accept that too.
All those times were a waste, nothing but a waste.
-
Not long ago…
Not long ago, we were lovers.
But now,
We can only be acquaintances
Two people whose paths once crossed
And parted
Never to happen again
-
All those days and nights together
All those memories, those fearless flights
Our perfect world, our fantastical joy—
They are nothing, and will remain nothing,
For your good, and for mine,
For ever and ever.
-
But in my dreams, we will always soar together,
Inseparable, on the wings of strength
In a world where there are no chains to bind us—
A perfect fantasy world that we once built, long ago,
As we were flying away into the midnight.
