The narrow streets of the city of Edoras were clear; apart from those who were out were standing in front of their houses. Clothes, hair and faces washed pristine and beaming. The reason for this was that the white lady of Rohan, Éowyn, sister daughter of the ill king of Rohan, Théoden the renowned.

"Make way for the lady of Rohan!" A man on horseback commanded, shooing wayward children into their parent's arms. Men automatically bowed as Éowyn rode past them, and no one said a word.

But then, without warning, an adolescent girl burst out of the crowd and made to run across the street. Her foot caught behind a cobble making her fall forward. She groped through the air for something to catch herself on, her fingers found the grey tail of Éowyn's horse. It thrashed it's freshly shoed hooves in the air and took seven éored to calm it down.

"Get up girl!" One of the soldiers growled, shaking the girl on the shoulder. She unsheathed a knife from her belt and brandished it at the man who backed off to allow her go get to her feet.

Éowyn dismounted her horse and walked over to the girl. She was roughly a head shorter (And a year younger) than Éowyn but did not look like a standard Rohirrim. For a start her hair, instead of the Rohirric blonde was a shade of deep treacle brown. Her face was slightly freckled and her eyes were a piercing sky blue.

"Who do you think you are young lady?" The soldier leered "Go on!" He added "Are you deaf?" He started laughing.

"There is nothing wrong with my hearing!" The girl snapped unsheathing a dagger from her waist. "Though I think you may need yours testin'"

"I'm sorry?" The éored captain growled "Didn't quite-"

"My point exactly!" The girl snapped before charging away from the escort and down the hill, hair billowing out behind her.
