Erumpent Potion– Write about someone who has kept all of their emotions inside, then suddenly snapped.

There was a lot of heated discussion going on that night in the Gryffindor Common Room, arguing over Quidditch or some other thing. Hermione was sat in the corner of the room doing her Charms homework and finding it hard to concentrate over the noise. They were doing this every night now and all it made Hermione want to do was explode and tell them to shut the hell up because she's busy doing homework, like they should be doing. Rather than arguing over some random thing that nobody cared about.
But she couldn't. For she was Hermione Granger; the quiet know-it-all, who never says a word apart from the all answers in class. Nobody knew who she really was as she kept to herself. She was better off without friends. So no one knew anything about her.

Hermione was going through a hard time lately; she was just waiting for that one thing to just tip her over the edge. She kept all her emotions bottled up inside and displayed a quiet smile on the outside. Going off to class, doing homework or even reading a book helps keep her distracted, distracted from the truth.
About two weeks ago Hermione received a letter from her parents, well her mum. Her father had been taken into hospital and she wasn't allowed to know why, which just hurt her even more. Once she had finished reading the letter, she stood from her chair at the Great Hall and walked out. She had only cried whilst in privacy and she hadn't told anyone either. Why would they need to know? All they would do is spread it, laugh or attempt to comfort her. No one was right to comfort her, she didn't really know anyone. Neville had once come up to her and asked if she was okay. She laughed and told him she was fine.

But now she had weeks of pent-up rage and floods of tears all rattling inside her like a tiger in a cage, her mind was spinning, she felt dizzy. Hermione stood up and shouted. "STOP THAT. STOP THAT NOW" Everyone stopped their argument and looked at the busy haired girl, now as pale as a sheet.
"YOU ARE ALL BEHAVING LIKE TWO YEAR OLDS, ARGUING ABOUT SOME RANDOM CRAP THAT NO ONE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT. YOU'RE ALL AS BAD AS EACH OTHER. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER THINGS FOR YOU TO DO THAN RAGE AT EACH OTHER FOR HALF THE NIGHT." she stopped and sat back down.
The Gryffindors let out a heavy sigh. But within five minutes they were back to arguing.
Hermione stood up again. "NONE OF YOU OBVIOUSLY CARE ABOUT ANYTHING. OR ANYONE. I WISH I HAD NEVER BEEN A GRYFFINDOR. YOU ALL BEHAVE LIKE A… A BUNCH OF RATS." And she ran off towards the girls dorms crying.

Two of the boys looked at each other. One black haired, one ginger. They both nodded and ran off after Hermione, shouting her name. They got to the top of the stairs where she had turned round. The two boys faced her and she said "What?"
The black haired boy with a scar and the ginger haired boy from the train. Their names were Harry and Ron.
"Well.. actually.. you were right. I guess we were all acting like pre-schoolers" sighed Ron.
"Yeah and that was pretty Gryffindor brave if you ask me" added in Harry as Ron nodded.
"Thanks" she smiled.

"Friends?" Harry questioned.
"Friends!" smiled Hermione.

And from then on, these three were known as the trio and went on amazing adventures with each other. Eventually defeating the Dark Lord, Voldemort. It just goes to show, if you let your emotions show, good things happen. It helps!

A/N – so that's the story! It's my first fic and challenge fic. So please review. Criticism is fine as long as it isn't harsh. If you like it, say why and same with if you didn't :)
Thanks :D
