Poison Apple

"I'm sorry," Raven began to close her bedroom door, "But we are not meant for each other."

Robin stopped the door before it completely shut, "Why? Raven I lo-"

"No you don't, Richard. You love Starfire, it's obvious you two are destined to be together. Now leave me be..." Raven shed a tear.

"Raven...That's not true. Star was just a crush, it's you that I need!"

Raven stared at the traffic light, trying to believe him. His face, bursting with sadness and hope, made her feel safe, that she could trust him no matter what.

She closed her eyes tightly, holding back tears, and choked, "Goodbye, Robin." She closed the door.

Robin began to say something, but nothing came out of his mouth. He collapsed on the floor, crying, repeating "why" over and over again. Starfire walked from around the corner and spotted Robin. She ran and sat next to him, rubbing his back.

She asked in her regular cheery voice, "Robin, what is wrong?" She stroked his hair, knowing that he would do whatever she asks.

He looked at her, eyes full of venom and hate. Star gasped as he grabbed her arm and squeezed it angrily, "This is all your fault…." Robin stood up, head down, hair covering his unmasked eyes.

"Let go of my arm!" Star stood up as well, feeling more of the pain that was given to her.

"Never, not after what you did to us." Robin clenched his teeth, restraining himself from completely loosing it.

"Please, Robin, what did I do? And who is 'us'?" She tried to pull herself away from Robin's grasp, only to make his grip even more painful. He snarled as his grip became so tight, it was unbearable for the alien to take. She yelped again in pain, making Cyborg rush to the hallway, screaming, "YO, Robin! Let go of Star!" His arm transformed into his sonic cannon and pointed at Robin.

Robin softened when he stared at Cyborg, and then glared back at Starfire. She cried as she begged, "Let go, Robin! I….I love you…"

Robin gasped and shoved her violently to the ground. She looked terrified, bracing herself for what would come. Robin balled his fist, then Cyborg's cannon built up its energy. Robin released his hand and stormed to his room, muttering, "Pathetic."

The two heroes exchanged glances. Cyborg picked Starfire up and took her to the Medical Bay, where she slept for the night.
