DISCLAIMER: I don't own House of Anubis, Doctor Who, or Harry Potter.
"3.1415926535897," Mara grinned and crossed her arms smugly. "Ha! I know more digits than you!" Fabian simply dismissed the fact, laughing it off. It was funny how much the two had common besides smarts. Mara sang, just like Fabian, and they both loved Doctor Who and Harry Potter as well. The list went on and was still in continuation.
All these years, they hadn't interacted at all…what was the change of heart? Neither one knew why they had started talking…it just happened. Was it because they had both sobered on following the rules? Something had to be pulling them together, making them sit together at supper, drawing them to converse for hours on end about everything and nothing at all. Joking, laughing, nothing anybody had ever imagined would go on between the two.
If not as a romantic interest, Fabian quickly learned Mara Jaffrey was nothing if not a great friend. It was almost refreshing to talk with someone who knew what he was speaking of when he began babbling about science. She would immediately jump in with her opinion, until Patricia told them to shut up because they could 'do their nerd talk somewhere else.'
"Fabian, you okay?" Mara raised an eyebrow before her face creased with worry. "Did I offend you? I really didn't mean to."
"You didn't offend me," he quickly assured, sending her a quick smile. His eyes lingered longer than they should have, in an adoring way almost as she began talking about microbiology.
"It is ten o'clock," Victor announced. "You have five minutes-"
"And then I want to hear a pin drop," Mara rolled her eyes playfully as she completed the daily routine. Offering him a small smile, "You better get going."
Fabian looked up abruptly, "Y-yeah. Definitely." But he didn't leave yet, simply standing up and looking down at her longingly, almost wondering, contemplating. And so quickly, he leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek- if she had blinked, she would've missed it, his lips on her cheek. He blushed a deep rose red and she looked down shyly. "S-sorry."
"No," Mara reassured a tad too quickly. "You…didn't do anything wrong."
He looked up at her shyly and smiled, "Good night, Mara."
"Night, Fabian," she grinned, resisting the urge to touch her cheek.
He had almost reached the door when he turned back around, grinning at her in amusement.
"And the decimal place after seven in pi? Easy, nine."
I just had to write this, they were too cute in the finale. How have I never noticed them before? Regarding the finale itself, it didn't live up to my expectations. But whatever the firework scenes made it worth it.
