Stephanie Meyer owns it all; I'm just playing with her characters.
Summary: Bella realizes the difference between the Cullen family relationships, and her and Edwards.
Bella always thought that the relationships that built the Cullen household were all similar except for her and Edwards. Of course everyone was a vampire except for herself, but that wasn't the difference.
"You know" she said to Edward as they finished watching The Phantom of the Opera for the twelfth time, "it's your fault that I'm not a vampire right now, able to spend eternity with you."
"What are you talking about?" asked a startled Edward who wasn't expecting the quiet accusation.
"Everyone in this house saved their mate from certain death by turning them, right?" she asked.
"Yeah." He asked with slight trepidation.
"Well since you had to be all super-human, and prevent my certain death you messed- up our eternity."
It hadn't been until she'd thought back to the first time Edward had to save her that she had realized the truth. It was before she had known the Cullen family was made up of vampires and that Edward was thirsting for her blood. It had been the first icy day of Bella's return to Forks, and a speeding van had almost made it her very last day on earth. Only Edward's mystical speed and granite like hardness had protected Bella from being crushed.
"Oh, I see. So I was supposed to watch you be crushed and then hope that maybe I'd be able to change you in time, to see why you were so enticing?"
"Yep. Now that I am still human and the love f your eternity you have made it so much harder on yourself. You'll eventually have to turn me, and the waiting and forever having to save me from myself will eventually drive you insane." She said with a smug shrug of her shoulders as she turned to lean back into his chest for the second movie.
As he looked down at the top of her head he realized that he was in love with a crazy woman, and that he would never fully understand her.
"In my opinion," he said as he clutched her closer, "insanity is so worth it."
