We join the big, climactic fight on a volcano top, in progress...
Aang fell to the ground. He tried to get up to face Ozi, but could barely lift his head.
While the others held back Azula, Zuko rushed forward. Then Appa swooped in closer as Momo held aloft some fruit.
Zuko punched fire into the air.
The Fire Lord ducked away from the flame, moving closer to Ang.
Momo threw a cabbage, striking Ozi in the ear.
Ozi was knocked off balance and fell into the great, deep center of the volcano.
All was quiet for a moment. Even Azula was breathless.
Zuko stepped up to the place from where his father had fallen and gazed down. "Long ago I was banished..."
Sokka began polishing his boomerang, knowing that Zuko would probably go on forever.
"...and now I have killed my own father." Zuko finally finished.
Team Avatar watched Zuko sadly. Katara began to step forward to comfort him, when Ang pointed out, "Actually, Momo did it."
Zuko turned. Everyone stared at Ang. Then they all looked over at Momo.
Momo had jumped off Appa and was chewing on a MangApple. He stopped and wondered if the others expected him to share.
Then a sergeant in the Fire Army came into view. "Thank heaven you are safe, Princess." He then noticed Zuko. "And Prince," he looked around. "But where is the Fire Lord?"
"The Fire Lord is Dead," Zuko said blandly.
"Long live the Fire Lord!" said Aang.
"Long live the Fire Lord," echoed the sergeant as he knelt. "What is your command, Sire?"
Zuko thought carefully a moment. "Assemble my generals. Call back the troops. This war is over."
"Do you really think it's that easy?" spat Azula.
"I am the Fire Lord." Zuko's tone made it so clear that the conversation was over, that his sister said no more of the condescending speech she had prepared.
Over the next few weeks, the world adjusted to the new order. Soldiers cam home. Power changed hands. Families re-united. The rebuilding began.
It was after this that Team Avatar met in the Fire Lord's throne room.
"I can't believe we're doing this," said Katara.
"Don't look at me," Exclaimed Sokka. "This was Zuko's idea."
Toph said, "Which makes me wonder if he hasn't lost it." She thrust up a hand, "This is complete nonsense!"
"A little nonsense on occasion is relished by the wisest of men," Iroh walked in.
"I think it's sweet," said Aang.
Zuko spoke up, "Everyone take your places."
Toph did so reluctantly, "So long as none of this ever leaves this room."
They then all copied Zuko as he knelt and bowed toward the throne saying, "All hail Momo, the all-powerful."
The first time was a little weak. Momo just sat happily on the throne eating.
The second time everyone was chanting while Momo paused to give a thumbs up sign.
THE END
Yes, short and wierd. I just had to get it out, so I didn't even take the time to expand it. Just enough to make it readable.
