He's halfway home when he realizes he's left his math book in his gym locker. He's got homework and a major test tomorrow so he turns the family station wagon around and heads back to McKinley. He doesn't make it to the gym though because as he passes the choir room, he hears ragged sobs drifting through the slightly parted door. A peek inside reveals Quinn doubled over the keys of the piano; head resting against the lid, arms wrapped around herself, shoulders shaking with each rasping breath. He feels bad for her, and so, without thinking, he steps into the room and clears his throat.
Quinn's head jerks up and her blood shot eyes snap in his direction. She quickly wipes away the tear streaks as her lips twist into an annoyed scowl. "Ever heard of knocking?!" she snaps.
"Sorry," he quickly apologizes, taking a step back.
She sighs, sucking her quivering bottom lip between her teeth in order to quell its movements. After a quick pause in order to steady her voice, she amends, "No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken your head off. It's just…I'm…"
Mike nods. "You had a rough day. Are you okay?"
"No," she states truthfully. "I can't go home. My parents kicked me out when they found out I was pregnant. I've been staying at Finn's but I can't exactly go there now, either."
"What about Puck?"
She rolls her eyes and scoffs, "I told him I didn't want his help; that I wanted to do this on my own. Only, I hadn't really thought it all the way through. I'm scared, you know?"
"I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through," he replies, making his way over to the piano and sitting down beside her. "But you're not alone. If you gave Puck a chance I think he'd surprise you. He'd be there for you and for the kid. Plus, you have friends. I'm sure Santana or Brittany would let you stay with them. And you have Glee, which okay, is kind of lame, but once you get past the whole outcast thing, it's fun, and the others aren't so bad."
She manages a weak smile.
"Come on," he offers, nudging her shoulder with his. "Let's get out of here, grab a milkshake or something, and then I can drop you off at Brittany's. Her mom's a little…strange, but she's nice. I'm sure she won't mind you crashing on the couch for a couple of days until you can figure things out."
