"I can't be saved", Severus said, walking away from her, now when he knew he was still able to run away from her. He feared nothing more than Lily. He feared he could harm her or worse: he feared she could change him. The wind was slowly blowing, brushing his pale face.

"But you can be spared!", she retorted, following him as he walked away. She wouldn't let him go. Not again. Not after she'd done such a terrible mistake to judge him and cast him away from her last time. Four years ago she had considered him a piece of trash because he called her a 'mudblood', but no second had she thought about how pathetic she had acted. Judging Severus was no option. He had chosen the right path, yes, but what friend was she, if she hadn't even try to make him understand what the consequences of his actions will be. "Severus, please.", the red-haired begged, catching his sleeve as he, once again, tried to escape her.

"Why would I be speared?", he asked in a low voice, turning his jet black eyes at her. She might have been his age, but she was still petite and fragile, or so she seemed. He had missed her and he hated the small wish in his chest to listen to her words and do as she says. But he couldn't. He would not only risk his life, but most important, he would risk hers.

Seeing as there was no other way to convince him, Lily tried her best to sound cool and nonchalant as she replied, "How many people have you seen dying before your eyes lately, Severus? How many of them have you killed yourself?" He stared right into her eyes, trying to figure out where she planned on going with this. Many, much more than you can imagine, Lily, he thought to himself, but said nothing. He couldn't admit his mistakes in front of her. Not in front of Lily.

"Your silence is telling me everything I need to know, Severus.", she spoke in a menacing voice, letting go off his sleeve.

"And aren't you afraid? I killed people. What if I'd kill you?" The idea disgusted him, scared him, froze his bones and his heart, and he couldn't believe such words would come rushing out of his mouth, but they did. And they were used only for good reasons.

"Not of you, no. I know you won't harm me.", she assured him, her emeraled green eyes fixing him.
