Chapter 1: The First Day – Wood, Dirt, and Stone, Oh My!
Please Read and Review
"Ah, they will tell tales of Mark some day... good ones I'm sure." – The Merchant
Lying on his back, a man stands up. Everything in his peripheral view is in a blur. He clears his eyes and quickly gets a greater view around him. He asks an almost idiotic sounding question, "Where am I?"
He looks around and sees many trees. In the distance, among the thicket, he spots a man. The man was unremarkable looking; brown haired man with a simple grey shirt and blue pants. Mark walked up to the man and attempted to start a conversation.
"You look lost, can I help you?" He smiled kindly. Mark nodded, "Yes, can you tell me where I am?" The man sighed, "That's a tough one. To make things simple, you're in the middle of nowhere. And I wouldn't be able to tell you how you got here."
Mark nodded, accepting the situation for now. "So, what is it that you do here?" The man shrugged, "I woke up without much memory of what happened to me. All I know is, I feel I'm supposed to help you in some way."
Mark nodded again, "I suppose that's plausible." He sighed, "So, what now?" The man handed some tools to Mark, "Take these. They should help you for now." He handed over a pickaxe and a regular axe.
Mark looked at the tools inquisitively, "So, what should I do with these?" The man said, "Chop down a few of those trees, and be quick about it. If you should see some living blobs bouncing around, I suggest you attack those as well."
Mark did so as was suggested. The man helped, more like directed, him as well. Even though Mark had no knowledge of woodcutting, he was able to fell a few trees with no trouble.
He spotted a few of the blobs bouncing around. The man called them 'slimes'. He attempted to kill them, however it was more difficult than first suggested, as the monsters seemed to bounce erratically. After a few minutes of flailing around, he managed to kill a few, collecting their little bits.
After Mark brought back the items he collected, the man merely said, "Excellent. We can now begin the erection of your first house."
"A house? Will it truly be that simple?" He merely nodded, "Don't over-think it. It'll hurt you more than necessary."
"So, what should I call you? It looks like we'll be with each other for a while." The man smiled, "Acher, nice to meet you…" He extended a hand.
Having taken the hand, he replied, "Mark."
The two started constructing a 'house'. After a few hours or so, they constructed a small wooden shack, completed with a table and chair inside.
After building for so long, the two sat there, tired. "Looks like a job well done." They fist bumped.
As day was quickly turning into night, Acher suggested, "We should get in soon. The night life is not exactly friendly." Mark nodded, unsure of what to say.
They quickly got inside the dimly lit house. It was going to be a quite some time before they could do anything. "Should we turn in for the night then?"
End
So, it's basically my play through of Terraria, sprinkled with my personal musings. I've basically done everything I could think of doing and I got bored.
