THE PHRASE A DESANTOS NEVER WANTS TO HEAR

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

Got the idea from Home Improvement which belongs to Buena Vista. Power Rangers belongs to Haim Saban and Nickelodeon. I only own the plot. Takes place after "Goldar's Vice-Versa".

Rocky was in at Ernie's Gym And Juice Bar, sitting at the counter and talking on the phone.

"Come on, Miguel. Fess up. What's going on?" Rocky asked.

"Nothing much. Mom hired a carpenter to put in the stairs much to Dad's chagrin," his younger brother, Miguel replied.

"Hey, I love Dad, but Mr. Fix It, he ain't," Rocky chuckled.

"Yeah, I know," Miguel agreed.

"Rocky, come on, man. We got class," Adam said.

"I'll be there in a sec," Rocky told him. Presently, Tommy and Kimberly came up.

"What's going on?" Kimberly wondered.

"Yeah, I thought you and Rocky had a class to teach," Tommy commented.

"We do, but I can't get him to get off the phone," Adam answered.

"It's important," Rocky replied. Then, he heard something crashing.

"Oh, no!" he heard his father's voice exclaimed. Rocky tensed. Please tell me he didn't touch the staircase, he silently pleaded. "I can fix this!" his father continued.

"Not a phrase you want to hear at our house," Rocky said and then dropped the phone and dashed.

"Rocky?" Kimberly asked in surprise.

"Sorry, Adam!" Rocky called.

"It's fine," Adam told him. Oh, boy. I hope there's not too much damage, he thought to himself. Just then, Rocky ran to Aisha.

"Rocky, watch where you're going," she scolded.

"Sorry, "Ish. Gotta go," he responded and then continued on his way.

"His dad tried to fix something again, didn't he?" Aisha asked Adam.

"Yep," Adam confirmed as Billy came up.

"Hey, what's up with Rocky? I saw him running as if Goldar and a group of Putties were after him," he stated.

"He had an emergency at home," Adam answered.

"Because his father tried to fix something?" Kimberly asked in confusion.

"Yeah, growing up, we all learned the one phrase that a DeSantos never wants to hear," Aisha replied.

"What's that?" Tommy wondered.

"I can fix this," Adam and Aisha chorused. Then, Adam and Tommy set up for the class. Meanwhile, Rocky had finally made it home and was staring at the giant hole in the wall.

"Dad, what did you try to do?" he asked.

"Well, I was trying to put the staircase in. I didn't expect this to happen," his father responded.

"This is great, Dad. Now we really do live in a hole in the wall," Miguel stated.

"Miguel, callate," Rocky told him.

"Tu callate," Miguel responded.

"Boys," their mother called warningly. Then, seeing the wall, she started screaming at their father in Spanish. Rocky's eyes widened at some of the words and he immediately placed his hands over Miguel's ears.

"And that's our cue," he muttered, and led his brother to his room. Once there, he shut the door.

"Rocky, why does Dad try to fix things when he knows he's no good at it?" Miguel wondered.

"No clue, 'mano, but I'm the one who's gonna have to help fix it," Rocky answered, letting out sigh. Such was a typical day at the DeSantos household.
