"Why…? Nakama are supposed to be here for me!" I screamed as I lay helplessly on the floor.
Natsu…
Gray…
Erza…
They were my best Nakama. Why? I thought, they accepted me.. I thought that they loved me and protected me because I was nakama. Now, I can see that it was all fake, that I truly meant nothing to them. I knew that no one would come for me as they walked away from me, my hand unconsciously reached for them in hopes that they would turn around and help me. But their backs were the last I saw of them. Black spots filled my vision as I watched their bodies get further and further.
The pain that ached throughout my whole body woke me up. As my eyes slowly opened, an unfamiliar ceiling welcomed me. What am I doing here?
"Huh? Where am I? Who am I?" I asked myself. I moved off the bed and stepped towards the mirror. My hands moved towards my face and I found myself feeling every inch of my face and body. My brows scrunched in frustration as I only felt unfamiliarity while staring at my reflection. Is this blonde supposed to be me?
The door slammed open. I flinched hearing the wood crack as it made contact with the wall.
"You alright, fairy? You were out pretty cold, bleeding and all." a blonde guy asked me, smirking.
"The fairy is so useless. She just laid on the ground to die right?" a red cat said crossing his arms.
"Fro thinks so too!" a cute green cat in a pink frog costume said.
"I'm a fairy?" I questioned. How am I a fairy? For all I know, I don't have any wings.
"Hm?" The two cats looked at each other before placing their eyes on me.
"Look at your hand." They guy said. I looked and saw an unfamiliar mark. What is this mark even? This classifies me as a fairy? The mark started to fade the longer I stared at it. The energy that accompanied the mark was replaced by the bare skin of my hand. After a few moments, it disappeared.
"Nothing." I held my hand up, showing the blank space. "There's nothing on it."
A man with black hair came into the room. He stared at me and glanced at my hand before looking towards the blonde.
"Sting Eucliffe, Rogue, Lector, Frosch" Sting pointed to each person as he said their names for me to memorize.
"What's fairy-san's name?" Frosch asked tilting her head. I gave her a small smile before realizing, what is my name?
"I don't know my name…" I said walking to Fro. I knelt down and patted her on the head. I felt a sharp pain before a name popped into my head.
"Lucy…" I said quietly. "Lucy Heart?" I asked curiously. I think something's missing but I'm not sure.
"Let's leave it at that, Rogue." Sting smirked.
"Does Lu-chi want to join our guild?" Fro asked cutely. A guild?
"I can join your.. guild? I'd like to stay with you guys. If it's okay." I smiled at them.
"Go ahead, Blondie." He smiled this time. He walked out the door shrugging.
"So I'm Lucy then..." I mumbled. Somehow I feel like, I might be comfortable with them. They don't seem so bad here.
After finishing breakfast and learning more about them, we were about to head out the door. But I felt like I was forgetting something important. "Wait," I said. I ran to the room where I was sleeping. I scanned the room before laying my eyes on the brown packet with the mark that was on my hand when I woke up. It's the mark again.. I guess it meant something to me before I lost my memories. I grabbed it, removed the mark from the small key holder and put it around my waist. It feels too important to get left behind.
I walked out the door after feeling a little more complete than before.
"You're taking too long, Lucy!" Lector yelled.
"Fro thinks so too!" she said.
"I'm here!" I said. Then we headed towards the guild. I was getting a lot of glances from other people though. Some of the girls especially gave me dirty looks.
We headed to the second floor of the building.
When we arrived at the door, Sting and Rogue and their exceeds led me into the room. They bowed, then I followed, bowing as well. The guild master was a woman, she gave off the feeling of power. She's probably the master in this guild then.
"Why did you come here today, Sting, Rogue?" she asked with coldness in her voice.
"We have a girl here who would like to join our guild." Sting explained. Her eyes moved from Sting to me. As soon as we made eye contact, I quickly looked down.
"M-My name is Lucy Heart and I have… Celestial Magic.. ?" I said nervously, frowning as the words left my lips.
"Celestial magic?" she asked with delight. "Go ahead and join, Lucy."
I felt excitement as soon as she gave me her approval. If I didn't get to join their guild, I'm not sure what I would have done.
"Did you hear that, Sting, Rogue?" I turned towards them. "Arigatou!" I hugged them. When I let go, they both were smirking and I smiled.
"Dobengal," she called. "Give her the mark."
A guy with tan hair soon came out and was wearing a ninja suit.
"Where would you like it?" he asked holding the stamp.
"In white on my hand!" I said happily. I brought my right hand up but I quickly put it down. The pink mark that was once on my hand left a lingering feeling on my skin that changed my mind. I lifted my left hand for him.
He stamped it for me then went away.
I quickly hugged Sting and Rogue once more while smiling.
"You will also be in their team from now on." She said smiling.
"Sure." Sting said at the same time that Rouge said "OK."
"Are you sure about this, Sting-kun?!" Lector obviously disagreed.
"Fro likes Lu-chi." Fro said cutely while hugging my leg. Today was one of the best days of my life, not like I remember the others anyway. But maybe it was for the best that I don't remember.
"Welcome to Sabertooth." Sting said while wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
Compared to before, the pounding headache that I had turned into nothing.
We left and decided that we would go do a job tomorrow but for now, we were going to explore because I didn't know the town very much.
Suddenly, a town popped into my mind. "Hey… Let's go to Magnolia." I said smiling. They both turned to me.
"What made you think of that?" Rogue asked with caution.
"Just popped in my mind." I shrugged while heading for the train.
"Wait!" Sting and Rogue yelled.
"Let's go there first!" Sting pointed at the clothing store on the way. For some reason, they forced me to wear sunglasses, a black cap, and a hoodie that had the Sabertooth mark on it.
They didn't even buy anything for themselves.
"Why did you pick out these clothes?" I asked them curiously.
"No reason." Lector answered for them.
"Fro thinks so too!" she said.
We headed for the train after they managed to ignore my questions. When we got on, they both started having motion sickness before the train even started to move! It was just too funny! "It sucks for you guys!" I said laughing.
"Shut up… Blondie..!" Sting managed to say.
"Ok, both of you guys, come sit beside me." I said. They managed to come sit by me. I was trying to hold in my laughter. Sting's head flopped down on my lap and Rogue's head fell on my shoulder. Frosch and Lector were already napping.
I rubbed Sting and Rogue's heads.
"We aren't puppies." They both said.
"You are to me. Now go to sleep." I smiled at their similar states. Soon after, they both fell asleep.
I looked out the window as the train started to make its way to Magnolia. For an odd reason, I felt nostalgic being in this town. Maybe it was my home, maybe I had a memorable life here before. But regardless, I must have a reason for the memory loss... and I wasn't sure if I wanted to know the reason why.
When we arrived at Magnolia, I shook them awake. They were groggy just from being on the train. When we got off the train, they revived and went back to normal.
I laughed as they went back to acting tough.
As we made out way through the train, we passed by a group of mages. The scarlet haired girl was so beautiful that I found myself staring at her for a little too long. The pink haired guy had a white haired girl clinging onto his arm, he even had an exceed with him.
After passing by the pink haired guy, he suddenly grabbed my arm. Who was this guy? I tried to remove his hand from my arm but his grip was too strong to shake off.
"W-What?" I said nervously.
"Natsu? Who's she?" the white haired girl asked.
"Lucy?" 'Natsu' asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Lucy?" the scarlet girl asked surprised.
"What?" a raven haired guy asked.
Suddenly, images and memories were flowing in my head. It showed images of these three people, excluding the white haired girl, leaving me behind on the floor bleeding with scratches and bruises all over my body. Is that why I have these bandages on me? More than that, I saw the good memories I had with them, the fun adventures and the memorable fights we had together. But if we were such good friends, then why did they leave me like that?
I felt fear as I forced his hand off of me.
"Sting… Rogue…" I whispered under my breath. After a moment, I heard them moving in front of me, blocking the group from me.
"What are you doing?" Sting asked glaring at the group.
"Let's go, Lucy." Rogue said. He grabbed my wrist and led me away, Sting holding my other.
"Lucy! Don't you remember me?! It's Natsu with Erza and Gray!" he yelled towards me. I shook their hands off my wrists and put my hands to my ears, muffling the yells from the familiar man I used to be friends with. I glanced back and saw how heartbroken they all looked before facing forward again.
While we walked, my new group kept my mind off the mages by buying ice cream for me and basically spoiling me. It felt funny to be treated like a little girl.
A book store caught my attention and my interest was piqued.
"Rogue! I wanna look!" I said pointing. He nodded and told me he would wait outside with everyone else. I ran inside and looked at all the books. Then I came across the Weekly Sorcerer, I'm not sure why but I felt the need to sneak a peek at the contents. It looked interesting and was the latest release so I figured, why not? So I was about to get it but my hand clashed a blue haired girl's hand.
"Lu-chan?!" she exclaimed, surprise clear in her voice. "Where were you? We were worried because we haven't seen you!" She touched my hand and then, memories flooded into my mind again. It had her calling me 'Lu-chan'. I quickly pulled my hand away, in fear. Every time I get a new memory it just hurts. I turned around and ran away from her despite hearing her call for me again. As soon as I got outside, I slammed into a hard chest.
"You know, if you want to be in my arms, you could just say so." Sting said smirking and put his arms around me.
"It's not like that!" I said pushing him away. We joked around some more while walking around. I thought about telling him but I decided against the idea. Then while we were eating at a diner, I overheard some people talking about Fairy Tail.
"Hey, could we visit Fairy Tail after this?" I asked. I thought they were going to say yes, like they usually did, but they looked at each other.
"Fairy Tail is Sabertooth's enemy, Lucy." Lector glared at me, scolding me for even suggesting.
Our food arrived when we were done talking about Fairy Tail. The atmosphere thankfully changed and it turned out to be really fun. We ate quite a bit though. Then, after eating, we headed for the train again to leave.
They felt like barfing again because of their dragon slayer motion sickness.
I told them to do what we did last time and they obeyed my command. Sting's head had to go on my shoulder like Rogue though. Frosch and Lector fell asleep on my lap.
Soon after a while, I fell asleep myself while thinking about my newfound memories.
So what do you think? Hope you enjoyed!
Lucy's attitude is different because of her amnesia to those who think this isn't her normal attitude. So yeah! Hope you stick around for the next chapter!
