The Storm

For the Silver Sixpence Challenge: Something Borrowed

They've just had one of their biggest fights since they got back together, complete with screaming, and the throwing of small objects across the RV.

It's both of their faults, really, but Beck can't help but feel extremely awful as his girlfriend storms out of the RV in anger, into the dark, slightly chilled night.

Beck's heart is still pounding heavily from the adrenaline fighting, and he takes a minute to catch his breath, sitting on his bed, sorting out his emotions in his mind, and realizing he barely even knows what the hell they were fighting about.

It's not until he hears a loud crack of thunder sound from up above him that he jumps up, his eyes widening in worry.

The fight is totally forgotten. All he can remember is the fact that his girl is out somewhere in the storm and he has to find her.

Running a nervous shaking hand through his hair, he throws a pair of boots on and doesn't even bother searching for a jacket.

Dashing outside, Beck rushes towards his car, getting inside quickly, twisting the key through the ignition.

He begins driving, scanning every street carefully, but moving fast too because the storm seems to be picking up in a slightly dangerous way.

He's searched all the streets around his house, it's been about three minutes, and he's really beginning to panic. Getting an idea, he pulls over, taking out his pearphone from his pocket.

Clicking his speed dial quickly, he presses the phone to his ear and listens to it ring, getting false hope in between each ring that she's picked up.

"Hey, it's Jade. I probably hate you, so please don't leave a message."

Beck's heart sinks, pressing to end the call.

He closes his eyes nervously, trying to calm down. He knows her more than anyone. Where did she go?

He realizes why she didn't pick up her phone. She doesn't want it to seem like she needs him, almost like she's surrendering in their argument, which she can't do.

This is serious chiz though, and he needs to know she's safe.

Beck comes up with an idea, and begins driving down the road to Cat's house.

He parks, getting out quickly, knocking on the door loudly. He sees the red haired girl answer, in pajamas.

"Hi Beck!" She grins.

"Cat!" He said urgently. "I need to borrow your cellphone!" He demands "For Jade!"

He holds out his hand. Bewildered, Cat drops her Pearphone into his hands.

His fingers are almost trembling as another clap of thunder sounds, causing Cat to scream. He dials her number, listening to the ringing.

"Hey, Cat why are you calling I need to-" Jade begins, her tone cold.

"Babe! Where are you?! I've been looking for you and there is a storm and we need to get back in the RV!" He lists.

Jade furrows her eyebrows confused, realizing whoever was on the other end of the phone was not Cat but was.. Beck.

She can't help but smile faintly as the concern in his voice, although she is covered in rain and standing in the middle of a road. She was stupid to fight with him, to think he didn't care about her. She was stupid to not pick up his calls earlier when he was trying to help her.

"Hi.. Umm.. Beck. I'm okay. But umm.. Could you come pick me up?" She requests, almost shyly.

Beck laughs. "Of course, tell me where you are, I'll be right there."

She tells him her location and he hands the borrowed phone back to Cat, rushing to pick up the his girl on the side of the road.
