It was a peaceful sunny day on a beautiful beach... the sand was warm, the sea calm and blue and the sea breeze was drifting dreamily across the sand...

Unfortunately this lovely peace quickly vanished.

"Hey!"

A yell traveled across the beach's sand.

"Whitley!"

"Whitley!"

"Whitley! quickly Get up!"

The voice continued to yell, the shout entered the ears of a white haired boy lying down on sand.

Waking suddenly the white haired boy sat up quickly and groaned while bringing an arm to his forehead to shield his eyes from the sun.

"Whitley, we have to go! no time to explain!" A blonde boy came running towards the white haired one. The other boy tiredly struggled up out of his sitting position, stumbling while adjusting to standing up.

"J-jack... wha- whats going on?" Whitely asked drowsily while in a state of tired bemusement.

The blonde boy, Jack ran up to Whitley grabbing his arm and brung him into a stumble behind him as he continued running. In the distance trees fell to the ground as a large presence broke them as they passed.

"Oh umm... Whitley its nothing much... just a uhh... you know... a magicalsuperursa." Jack finished nervously.

"... wha?" Whitely said utterly confused.

"Just don't stop running and we'll be fine"

Jack told him, a slightly nervous chuckle acompanied his words.

Whitley looked behind him to see a massive ursa decorated with blue glowing tatoos, rushing towards them.

That snapped him out of his drowsiness as he started running properly taking the lead ahead of Jack, eyes wide and heart pumping. One thing played loudly in Whitley's mind.

'Big ursa! big ursa! big ursa! Big ass freaking ursa coming in at a thousand miles an hour! Its gonna crush me into flat white shit! Flat white shit! Oh crap! crap! CRAP! CRAP!!!'

Thundering crashes came from behind them in a rythym, Jack no longer pulling Whitley sped up to a sprint keeping up with Whitley as the dark beast pursued them... and it was getting closer with every step.

Jack quickly thought of something to help them as he pointed to the forest diagonal to them.

"Over there! we'll use the forest to hinder its path!" Jack shouted, They turned mid run towards the forest sprinting across the sand as best they can.

The ursa noticed the change in direction and quickly followed behind them with thundering steps.

They entered the forest passing a lot of large trees and running through shrubbery as the grimm behind them was breaking through the trees and despite their strategy... it was still gaining on them, though slowed.

"It's not working! Do something!" Whitley yelled as he glanced back again seeing it aproach.

Jack looked around desperately looking for something, he contemplated using his abilities but then remembered it was immune to them and that he didn't actually want this fine specimen dead. He looked for an alternative and managed to get a glimpse at a cliff in the distance beyond the trees. Thinking of what use this cliff could be... he remembered a bit of trivia about the cliffs in the general area.

"Follow me! I know how to get away from our furry friend back there!" Jack shouted as he did a 30 degree turn towards the cliffs, Whitley quickly followed with super ursa hot on his tail.

They jumped over fallen trees and dodged dense vegetation as the ursa pushed past all of it.

They were close to the cliffs but the super ursa was closer.

It took its chance and made a swing at Whitley who was a bit behind Jack.

Swooosh!

Whitley yelped as he managed to just jump ahead of the attack, and ran a bit faster behind Jack, breathing heavily as he did. Super ursa stumbled slightly after his attempt at swatting Whitley, giving the duo more distance between them and the beast.

Jack and Whitley ran up to the cliff face, Jack turned left suddenly... just a metre in front of the cliff. Whitley followed quickly. Super ursa also tried to follow them but its impressive weight and current momentum worked against it as it smashed straight into the side of the cliff, causing some loose material on the cliff to fall on top of it, it roared in anger.

Jack slowed to a stop looked back at the ursa and smiling at his successful plan, while Whitley continued running, passing and ignoring Jack as he looked for a way out of danger... probably think along the lines of "F*ck this sh*t, I'm out.

Jack was about to run away behind Whitley but... a pebble fell down in front of him.

Jack looked up and his eyes widened, he sprinted away, chasing after Whitley as a boulder fell and crash landed where he was previously standing.

'obviously the rocks didn't just fall conveniently on the ursa.'

Jack mentally said to himself as decently sized rocks along with various stones and pebbles fell from the cliff.

Jack dodged these falling rocks as he ran after Whitley, he saw Whitley turn a corner that was on the side of the cliff.

Whitley had just realised something about this cliff... it was filled with natural caves and cavities! He could hide in one of them! As he looked he saw that some of these caves and cavities weren't accessible, some were too small, and some did not suit his needs... so he passed them. When he turned the corner he started looking for the ideal cave to hide in, he had spotted one... but it wasn't close enough so he dropped down and crawled into the closest cave he could find that was a good substitute. After a moment Jack swiftly slid in after him, and they positioned themselves out of the sight of the mouth of the cave.

While hiding Jack began preparing one of his spells.

"Jack!!! It can still sense us! use your magic!" Whitley hissed, unnecessarily.

"Just wait a moment I need to concentrate... and also don't tell me what to do!" Jack quietly yelled, he then frowned as he concentrated his magic to do a particular job.

Orbs of blue light orbited around his hands as they glowed with arcane power.

The orbs quickened and became a blurr, this all exploded into blue energy which became grey as it split and traveled to both of the boy's chest and entered into their bodies, being absorbed into their aura which after a moment turned tjem colorless in appearance.

Jack put a finger to his lip as a gesture of silence.

"shhh!"

They both stilled and tried to make as little noise as possible.

They could hear a loud rythym of crashes coming frim outside. The footsteps of the ursa slowed until it stopped completely.

Both of the boys sweated nervously.

Jack worked up some courage and peaked out from his hiding spot and saw the ursa moving and looking around in search of its earlier prey, but it could not see them or feel their presence.

Jack pulled his head back in and waited, Whitley curled up into a ball to fit better in his hiding spot... and also because it comfortable to him.

They waited for super ursa to leave. The Ursa continued to look around for almost a minute but then gave up and left to find more prey.

Both of them sighed in relief.

Whitley sat up and looked at Jack expectantly, Jack ignored this look and decided to practice his whistling...

Whitley's expectant look turned to a glare as Jack whistled, almost comfirming that he had a part in their newest problem.

"... What the hell was that!?!"

...

Jack nervously chuckled...

"Hehe... Would you believe me if I told you that thing was an overgrown magic teddy bear?"
