The Beginning of the End

Deidara held a young Kurotsuchi's hand as they promised each other never to forget the other. She held tears of anguish in as she pleaded with the young boy not to live. He stroked her pale face and wiped the tears away as he tried not falter in his steps.

"Imouto." Deidara said sternly. Kurotsuchi sniffled with a pained look on her face. "Don't cry over me." He warned her intensely. Kurotsuchi held onto the newly rogue ninja's hand, refusing to leave. "You're only twelve!" She squealed aloud. Deidara sighed sadly. "Your only ten."

Deidara tried to silence the young girl who he thought of as a best friend for all of his life. They sat in the temple of the Tsurikage, trying to prevent the other from leaving. Kurotsuchi held onto his robes tightly, crying now.

"I'll come back! I have to perfect my art! This stupid lying village isn't going to do that for me!" Deidara pulled the white glove off of his hand and flashed it to the girl. She lept back in shock seeing the mouths open and close curiously.

"YOU STOLE-!" Her screams were ended when he placed a small kiss on her cheek. With a push she lightly dived out of the way afterwards, a small burst of pink on her cheeks. Deidara flashed her a white grin, flipping his long hair over his shoulder.

"We'll meet again." Deidara winked at the shocked little girl. She almost didn't realize that she was holding something as he ran away from her and down the staircase with a furious pace. Kurotsuchi watched his blonde hair fall out of sight as he jumped and dived away.

She held out her hand and looked at it. A small crafted bird laid in her hand.

She only snapped out of it when the explosions started, and she ran to join the fray of loyal ninja.

Kurotsuchi saw him again on the battlefield. As strong and accomplished as she was, she couldn't bare to kill him. It didn't escape her notice that Deidara didn't direct his taunts to her, or throw his explosive clay towards her. This is why she teased and taunted him, calling him big brother on the field as if he had never left. Deidara paid her no mind, chuckling lightly as if embracing an old friend.

Her gobbled up clay that nearly hit him exploded in a range of fiery senbon. Deidara didn't take her seriously, instead focusing on her partners. His replacement, a sad and unnoticeable ninja tripped and dissolved comically as one of Deidara's spider bombs hit him. Kurotsuchi rolled her eyes as Deidara landed softly next to her, a wide and childish grin on his face.

"What are you doing Deidara?" She questioned him angrily. Her false glare didn't waver as he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards his clay bird.

"Kurotsuchi I apologize but let me show you my ultimate art." Deidara grinned happily. She pulled her short hair over her ear and scowled at him.

A large punch came to his face as he went flying across the plain, flipping and rolling shoulder to shoulder across the plain. She didn't know what made her say it. But she did regardless.

"I'll think about it." Kurotsuchi huffed and sat on the huge clay bird built for two, ignoring Deidara's pained groans as he lifted himself.

(Later that night brought to you by Katsu!)

Kurotsuchi stared Deidara in the face blankly as they flew through the sky catching up. Deidara excitedly told her about the villages he'd destroyed, and the amazing explosive clay he'd produced all by himself. He loved being free to make whatever art and whatever explosions he wanted. On and on he droned about his art, speaking with a blush on his face about how it held a comparison to love itself.

"Nobody cares about art big bro." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. She was fairly angry about his leaving. Deidara cleared his throat. "Well of course YOU don't. Your the best piece of art after all!"

Kurotsuchi turned her big brown eyes to Deidara and started into his wet blue ones. They glowed with a slight apprehensive look. He seemed nervous. She punched him again, Deidara instead using a substitution jutsu to avoid the massive chakra punch she aimed his way. For a little girl, she always held a huge amount of power.

"Little sister." Deidara sighed. Kurotsuchi huffed and sat down.

"Thank you big bro." She mumbles and looked away, intent on hiding the pink blush on her cheeks. Deidara hid his own with his blonde hair. It had grown even longer and he now held half of it up in a hair tie.

"Wanna see my art stash?" Deidara grinned at her. She huffed. "If you think I'm going to betray my village-!"

A kiss on her cheek shut her up very quickly. "Nobody said that." Deidara patted his young friends cheek. "I'll show you where I live. I know you won't tell." He grinned at her. Kurotsuchi huffed again but deep down, she knew he was right. She blamed her own weak heart.

"Here we are!" Deidara helped her off the bird and showed her an empty untouched temple. Untouched apart from the massive destruction of bombs around the temple. He had slaughtered an entire village in madness just to have this excellent place. Kurotsuchi coughed down the bile in her throat.

"Will you still visit little sister?" Deidara smiled at her genuinely, an eagerly cocky grin on his face. Kurotsuchi sighed. "Whatever big bro."

"Great." Deidara steered her to the main room, a wide open parlor with a beautiful view of the sunset. She took note that everything inside the temple was royalty like and expensive. Deidara had obviously been busy. "Look!" Deidara pointed to the ten giant bowls that held different types of clay. He seemed to be making clay by hand. "Beautiful isn't it?" He smiled at the little girl beside him.

"Triggering." She spit and sat down grouchily next to him. She was more mad at herself for not killing him the second he tried to leave. Deidara smiled at her too much. She felt self conscious at the attention.

"Stop it!" Kurotsuchi snapped at him as she rubbed her face to hide the blush.

"Make me." Deidara snickered.

Her tough fist sent him flying headfirst down the stairs, a long trail of blonde hair following him quickly.

Two years time skip

Kurotsuchi visited Deidara on and off for the next two years. He was happy to have company and someone to watch his clay form. She still made fun of his art, but Deidara was used to brushing off her usual rude comments. Deidara had just turned 17 and as Kurotsuchi matured both mentally and physically he found himself doing the same.

It was the day before the Akatsuki came for him that they made love for the first time, sealing the deal on their relationship. They had been talking about their future for a long time, about how unsure it was. More and more Kurotsuchi was worried and complaining of how nervous she was that her village wasn't as strong as Konoha. More and more genin ninja were being sent on dangerous missions they weren't even qualified for. All the other Hidden Countries and villages had an advantage.

Deidara convinced her that having his child would guarantee her a Kekkei genkai that nobody would be able to stop. Their combined skill in art would triumph. His hand months were not hereditary but stolen, but have mixed into his dna and genotype. There was a chance that he could pass them to the next generation.

Kurotsuchi thought it was a good idea. No other village had a bombing expert as good as Deidara and he was a massive loss to their army. So as they dipped and weaves between the sheets she gave no thought to how young she was, just to the thought that if she died, her village's future was undetermined. By doing this she felt as if she could make up for her sins by giving the village what it needed.

Deidara pulled her into him one final time and collapsed on top of her. They had went at it all night until the sun came up. Kurotsuchi couldn't even feel embarrassed, just fulfilled. When she grabbed at Deidara's long hair and pulled him close to cuddle, Deidara sighed happily. Normally she left after an hour or two, to prevent suspicious. Kurotsuchi was glad she could present a weapon to Irawgakure's future.

She didn't leave for the whole night, and made him breakfast in the morning as she pretended just for once that he was her husband and she could still live happily with him forever and forever. Kurotsuchi frowned at the relaxed lines in Deidara's face as she left during his food nap. He seemed so at peace. She wished she could make that horrible feeling in her gut go away.

Deidara left with Itachi, Kisame, Sasori, and Konan nervously. Despite his loss he wasn't all that mad. He looked back towards the temple as they walked away, watching it with nervousness. They each noticed his worry and questioned him.

"Left something kid?" Kisame smirked a toothy smile at the young blonde haired boy. Deidara shrugged. "What happens to your family when you join the Akatsuki?" He asked with a slight hint of apprehension. As they each walked, Sasori looked at Deidara in confusion.

"Didn't you abandon your village. As rogue ninjas, we no longer have any family." Sasori said with disgust. Itachi said nothing, but looked at Deidara confusedly. When Deidara frowned, he spoke sourly.

"If my intel is right and I'm sure it is, you bombed your village despite training under the Kage him. What family do you have left?" Itachi said smoothly, trying his best to hide his jealousy.

"A girlfriend un," Deidara sighed, walking straight ahead with his head down. "And a baby on the way." Konan looked at the young boy and imagined tiny Deidara babies. She smiled brightly, making the others confused.

"Babies making babies?" She smirked at him and wagged her finger. Deidara sighed, not telling them the real reason he wanted children. He didn't give a damn about the village. Seeing the look on Kurotsuchi's face as she was determined to save it, that was why he had agreed. He had wanted to say anything, do anything that would make her stay.

"They'll make art, just like me, un." Deidara smiled proudly. Sasori huffed in disgust and Itachi looked apprehensive.

"I will check with Leader, to see if accommodations could be made. We have never had a situation where a member cared for someone so vulnerable." Itachi placed a small hand on Deidara's shoulder. Deidara shoved it off with disgust.

"Kurotsuchi isn't vulnerable." Deidara hissed. Konan smiled at the young boy proudly. "Yahiko." She mumbled, looking at the sky.

"God help us." She smirked as Deidara and Sasori started to argue over what art should be taught to the children.

"Not that I care, but spreading your disgusting art is like breeding rats." Sasori huffed. Deidara scowled at the scorpion puppet on the floor. "Ugh. You have the nerve to talk." Deidara could practically smell the hair on the crotched puppet.

Kurotsuchi came back after two months. Missions had been harder and harder and Deidara's replacement B/N (bully name!) was getting annoying and nosy. Everytime she tried to sneak off to find Deidara, B/N was right there to question her. When she finally managed to just knock B/N out, she went to the temple that she and Deidara had had their first time together.

Deidara was nowhere to be seen when she entered the temple. Kurotsuchi's eyes widened as she saw the cracked domes and the empty pots. There had been a small explosion, but an explosion all the same. All of Deidara's clay was gone, and the place had deserted. The kunoichi glanced down at her slightly swollen belly.

Kurotsuchi blamed herself for not coming sooner. Perhaps Deidara had changed his mind and didn't want their child anymore. The young Kunoichi sighed and made movements to leave the temple. She felt oddly empty without Deidara's childish and cocky grin.

A piece of paper on the wall caught her attention as she was leaving, and she snatched it quickly as she saw her name.

Keep my little bomber safe.

I'll see you soon my love

Love, Deidara

It was a small and simple note, but she folded it carefully and placed it into her pocket. With a hand on her tummy she smiled and walked back to her village, hoping Deidara would find her.

Deidara faced the leader with a curious gaze. Pein-Sama looked at the young seventeen year old. Deidara and him were alone. Deidara had just finished explaining that he had a girlfriend and a child on the way with a beautiful Kekkei genkai. Pein surveyed the young bomber with a serious look on his face.

"A family of Explosive Experts.." Pein drifted off softly. Deidara shuffled his feet.

"Just keep me updated on the issue and I will take further action." Pein waved the young boy off. "Welcome to the Akatsuki."

Deidara nodded obediently and left with a small smile. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad.

A five months pregnant Kurotsuchi smacked Deidara around the head. He appeared in her bedroom at 3 o'clock, placing small kisses on her neck all the while while she was asleep. She cried in his arms, mumbling "big brother," while Deidara held her in his arms. He was gone for half of her pregnancy, making her think that he didn't love her anymore.

"I'm sorry Kurotsuchi, yeah." He mumbled into her hair as he pulled her into his lap. She moved against his muscled stomach as she sobbed into his neck. "YOU-!" She sobbed and hit her fist against his chest weakly. "HAVE A LOT TO MAKE UP FOR!" She punched him and stuck her leg in front of his face.

"FOOT MASSAGE NOW!" The angry pregnant woman bowled as he scurried for his life. Getting down on his knees, he kneaded her aching foot muscles with a fearful look on his face. Tears of happiness flew down her face as she rubbed her stomach. They finally had a family again.

Deidara signed and held the sobbing Kurotsuchi in his lap. She had confided in the Tsuchikage about her grandfather. Kurotsuchi had thought he would be understanding, seeing as Deidara was his favorite before he left. The answer was no.

"He said you have to give my little bomber away, un?" Deidara pouted down at the small brunette in his arms. Her belly was bulging with the life of of his child. He rubbed her belly while she wrapped her arms around him tighter, emotional and hormonal.

"He doesn't understand!" She sniffed. "I'm doing it for the village! Our child would be strong!" She sniffed and whipped her runny nose. Deidara tucked her chin over his shoulder and ran a hand through her hair. "HE SAID HE'LL KILL HER!" Kurotsuchi screamed.

Deidara tapped her back. "It's a stolen Jutsu, un."

"STILL A HUMAN!" Kurotsuchi sobbed. She rubbed her tummy and whimpered. Deidara stared down at the depressed kunoichi.

"Let me raise her, un." Deidara deadpanned. Kurotsuchi went silent immediately.

"What?" She sniffled, wiping her tears away. Deidara felt a small kick on his hand when he placed his hand over her belly. "She's gonna be a fighter just like her old man, yeah." Deidara smirked at the kunoichi. Kurotsuchi thought deeply.

"You live a dangerous life." She gripped his hand tightly. "How do I know you won't die and leave her all alone."

"Never, un." Deidara proudly grinned. "My art may be fleeting, but I have two things to fight for. Kurotsuchi, and my little explosion." He placed a kiss over her forehead. "I can train her how to use her jutsu, she'll become just as strong as her parents." He learned early to humor her. Kurotsuchi was completely sure it was going to be a girl. Deidara was completely sure it was going to be a boy.

"Leader-Sama thinks she can be useful as well." Deidara shrugged. Kurotsuchi's eyes narrowed. As long as Pein stayed away from Iwagakure she was fine with ignoring the Akatsuki. "Our baby isn't a tool." She glared at him. Deidara patted her belly lightly.

"Of course not un, she's art!"

️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️

Kurotsuchi was minutes away from giving their child life. She stayed with Deidara and Sasori in their old wooden temple, the one Sasori and the others had forced Deidara into the organization.

"Donna un, please help!" Deidara had cried out in a holographic jutsu, making Sasori immediately drop everything and run. Deidara had already made him promise to help with the birth. Sasori has a bag packed already with everything he could need.

When Sasori had finally made it to the building, Deidara was over excited and yelling amosities. The screaming inside hadn't ceased and Sasori scowled with an immense displeasure. He hated it when they screamed.

Sasori handled Deidara's girlfriend with uncaring feeling. He had to admit the child in her womb made him want to study the babe.

She seemed to sense his ill thoughts and squirmed around until Deidara held her hand.

"It's okay baby." Deidara yelled over her pained squeals. He almost didn't hear Sasori's command to push over her loud grunts.

Deidara snuck away to the corner to heat a pail of water. Kurotsuchi held onto the headboard above her head. She held a stick in her mouth as she clenched her muscles tightly with a loud scream. All the while Sasori held a wet rag over her forehead.

Deidara jumped when a loud cry filled the air. He looked to the exhausted woman as a baby was lifted into Sasori's arms. Struggling and kicking and screaming for the world to see, he cut the cord and held the screaming infant up. She quieted instantly in her mother's hands, and didn't flinch when Deidara pounced down beside them both.

The blonde baby girl, born at 8 pounds and 19 inches according to Sasori, laid vulnerably in her mother's arms. Sasori poked the infant lightly, brushing her wet and sticky body off. Just as he was about to congratulate the happy couple, Kurotsuchi flinched and her eyes went wide as she nearly dropped the baby girl in her arms.

"Well we'll, seems we're not done here." Sasori smirked as he gazed between her legs intently. Her cervix was still dilating as Deidara took the newborn from her arms.

"WHAT!" Deidara and Kurotsuchi both snapped. She groaned in pain as she hit her head on the floor. Deidara took the newborn over to the heated water pail. He carefully washed her off, taking a soft sponge and washing her face off gently. On the floor Kurotsuchi screamed as she pushed repeatedly, grabbing the nearest wooden pole.

"KAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" She screamed as the child tore her as high as she ever felt from the first. Kurotsuchi screamed for her life as a large head erupted from her cervix.

Exhausted and with a baby boy being pushed into her arms, she passed out in exhaustion.

Deidara lay there with two babies in his arms and while his girlfriend was asleep he took the initiative to name the children. Katsu his pretty flower, and and Ano as a toast to the new beginnings. Later on Kurotsuchi would beat him upside the head for denying her the joy of picking at least one name. But the small gummy smiles the babies had when they first heard the name from their mothers lips made her stop.

Instead, she relaxed with her boyfriend and two young children, while a puppet master was grumbling about the spit up on his cloak from Ano. Katsu cuddled her parents and closed her tired eyes along with her younger brother. The two twin bombers fell asleep in between the cozy couple. Even if Kurotsuchi could not always stay in their life, she knew that she could take the time to bond with them while she recovered. She wasn't ready to rush.
