Hey guys! Welcome to my new fanfiction! More notes at the bottom!

(Written from Andrew's Perspective)

I wake up slumped in a corner. I rub my neck, and the skin is tender.

Tranq?

Blinking, I look around to see three other people, two guys and a girl, in the other corners of the small square room.

"Hello?" I ask as they all stir.

"Where the bloody hell are we?" one of the men asks with a british accent.

"Dunno," the other male shrugs, yawning.

"Did I die or something?" The girl yawns.

"Who are you guys?" I ask.

"I don't really know," the second boy says.

And then I realize I know very little about myself.

My age.

I'm 22 years old. Male. Possibly gay?

I glance down at my plain clothing for any clues. On the left breast of my shirt is a name tag. Andrew.

A few fleeting memories race through my head.

My name is Andrew. I'm 22 years old, male, and possibly gay.

"Guys, do you have name tags?" I ask.

"It says here my name is Spike," The first one says. "Oh, now I remember!"

"I'm Oz," The second boy says.

"It says I'm Anya," The girl says. "I like it. Suits me. Maybe,"

"Hello," a girl's voice says. A bright light appears in the center of the room, and when it fades, a 14 ish year old girl with pink hair in a ponytail is left standing there.

"Who are you, little kid?" Spike scoffs.

"You will address me as 'The Author'," She says.

"Why can't we remember anything?" I ask.

"Don't worry, Andrew, your memories will come back as you advance," She smirks.

"Why are we here?" Anya asks. "Because, you know, I'm sure I have a good life to return to!"

"To play my game, of course," She laughs cruelly.

"Game?" Oz asks dubiously.

"I should explain," She says, clearing her throat, "You see, I pulled you all out of your timelines for a brief moment to bring you here to play. When you finally beat it, you'll be transferred back with no memory of this ever happening,"

"So, we have to beat the game quickly?" Anya asks.

"Well, not really. I'll put you back right where you left like nothing ever happened!" She chirps.

"How do we win?" Spike asks.

"You escape," The Author grins. "This place is like a maze. For every room and puzzle you complete, you'll regain memories. And once you hit the final room, you'll be free,"

"Will we get food?" Oz asks.

"Well, unless a room specifically requires being hungry or thirsty or stinky or needing to use the bathroom, you won't have to. You will, however, need sleep," The Author shrugs.

"Will this hurt ever?" I ask meekly.

"Nah, not really," The Author says casually. "Well, I should leave you to your own devices,"

"How do we leave here?" Anya asks, looking around the room. I glance around and see no doors, no windows. Only a lightbulb in the center.

"I'll leave that to you," The Author smirks. "Now, Welcome to Memory Castle!"

She leaves.
