Just a kind of mood piece, no actual plot progression or anything daft like that….
Don't own etc..
Very happy! Just sat my music first instrument Standard Grade (GCSE? Have no idea regarding English education system) AND.. Big news people!!!! My brass teacher has announced that we are playing The Pink Panther theme tune!!!!!! And I get the dumdum dumdums!!!!! YAY!!!!
Sorry, kind of overreaction there… Anyway, on with the story!!!
Despite the fact he knew it was completely and utterly WRONG, that it would break his cousin's heart, that he could be cast out, it didn't stop him.
He knew she could never leave him, that it was impossible to even think such thoughts. He knew that this as just an arrangement, to prevent the princess from becoming too lonely whilst her husband went on his trips.
When he came back, it was wonderful, a cause for celebration. She could go without days, weeks even months without sparing him a glance. But inevitably, always, she came back to him.
He lies in his bed, knowing that like clockwork, that two days after his beloved cousin leaves, he will hear the soft creak of the door, the padding of her feet as she creeps into his bed.
There is only one rule. No kisses on the lips. Or the other obvious place, because that would kill her, and he doesn't want that despite himself.
And as she gasps his name, and he murmurs hers into her shoulder, he knows that this is not the last time it will happen. That Aram will need to go on a trip, leave her again
For her, this is just an arrangement. The word love doesn't come into it. Two consenting adults satisfying basic needs.
For him, it is the closest he will get to openly loving the woman he was meant to be with.
What I have to say to that is Njarrg. Not quite my best, not quite my worst. Not as angsty as I wanted it, nor as long. But it will do as a drabblesque thing to add to my repertoire
(Heh. Big word)
