It was just another normal day after school. In an unused music room, sitting at a beautiful black piano as a young male around the age of sixteen. He wore some grey skinny jeans that were torn up in several places and a simple black hoodie. On his feet were sneakers that looked as if they were about to fall apart, however he couldn't afford new ones. His hair was a beautiful honey-like blond that hung down to his waist, and his eyes were ice blue but only one could be seen due to his bangs hanging over the left one. Around his eyes was a thin layer of black eyeliner that made them pop slightly. On a good day, he looked absolutely stunning and was often mistaken as a female due to his slim figure, but when he spoke his voice was deep and clearly masculine.
A small sight escaped the male's throat as he gently ran his hands across the ivory keys lightly. He often came in here after school to avoid going back to the orphanage. Thinking about going back to that place again was enough to make the young man cringe slightly. Biting his pale pink lip, he took in another breath and carefully placed both hands on the piano. Music was his only escape from the world around him, well that and his art. He was very passionate about both of them. When he wasn't in the music room, he was in the art room losing himself in his clay sculptures.
"Here we go…" He muttered softly. His eyes fell closed and his fingers slowly started working their way across the smooth keys beneath them. As the gentle melody filled the room, he started to hum along with the tone of the music. The song he was playing wasn't one of his own, but instead a song from one of his favorite movies. Tale As Old As Time from the movie Beauty and the Beast.
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before and ever just as sure as the sun will rise
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast
Beauty and the beast
He soon finished the song and removed his hands from the keys with a sigh of relief. That was one song he always enjoyed playing, though he never did play in front of people. He was too shy to do such a thing so he kept this to himself, or so he thought. Just as he started to get up, he heard a soft clapping from behind him. The blond's eyes grew wide as he spun around, causing his hair to flip wildly. Standing in the doorway was the music teacher. He was tall, with long raven hair that covered his right eye. Speaking of eyes, his were dark yet gentle. He wore a simple pair of black slacks, a dark red button up shirt with the sleeves rolled to his elbows, and a black tie. He gave the young blond a gentle smile and leaned in the doorway of the room. His name? Madara Uchiha.
"Now Deidara, tell me why I've never heard you play or sing before. You know I work with the theater teacher to put together plays and stuff like that. Out of the four years you've been going to this school, this is the first time I've even seen you touch the piano." The teacher said with a raised eyebrow. He noticed the crazy blush on Deidara's face and couldn't help but chuckle softly.
"I...I apologize Mr. Uchiha, un…" Deidara muttered softly. He cursed the damn speech impediment he had. He hated it but it was something he couldn't help. He was just lucky it never came out when he sang while he was alone.
"You know, I think you could really make something of yourself. Do you just have stage fright or something?" Madara asked while tilting his head curiously.
"You could say that...but I also just don't really think I'm that good, un… I taught myself how to play when I first started coming to this school. My best friend doesn't even know about it yet…" Deidara sighed and slowly looked up toward his teacher. "Please don't tell anyone about this and I apologize but… I just don't think I'll ever be ready to play for people, un."
"Don't worry, Deidara. As your teacher, I will keep this just between the two of us. If you change your mind, in the spring there's actually going to be a play for Beauty and the Beast. You'd make a wonderful Belle, even if you are a boy. I'm sure Hashirama would definitely give you that part." Madara couldn't help but grin as he walked over and patted the young blond on the shoulder. "Just think about it, alright? And if you ever need anything, my door is always open for you. You can come and stay for as long as you need if you ever want to get out of the orphanage. Just remember that."
"Yes sir...and thank you, un." Deidara managed to give the raven a small smile before he reached down and grabbed his bag off the floor. "I'll be going now. Have a good night." He gave the other a slight bow before he took off from the room, his cheeks were still flushed with embarrassment, but he did consider the offer for getting out of the orphanage. His best friend had already left that place and was living with his boyfriend, so there was nothing tying Deidara there now. He'd think it over tonight and give Madara his answer tomorrow.
