This is for agreatandterribleadventure who draws me the greatest pictures ever and ships Makorra.

"Can't you swim?" Korra taunted from the water, hand on her hip.

"I can swim. I'm just saying I'm not a huge fan of it." Mako shot back from his place in the sand.

"Well then why did you want to come to the beach with me if you're not even going to get in the water?"

"Why can't you just come up into the sand?"

"Because!"

"UGH! You're so irritating!"

The two of them fell silent, glaring at each other. Mako saw the muscles in Korra's arms flex and he tensed preparing himself for whatever she decided to do. She stared at him for another moment before she pouted and turned wading into deeper water until she was up to her chest. She glared at him for a moment more before turning her back to him.

He didn't deserve this from her right now, all he wanted was to spend a nice relaxing day at the beach with his girlfriend, but she had to be hotheaded as usual. He sighed and watched with a slight frown as she streamed water around herself, the muscles in her shoulders rippling beneath her tan skin. He opened his mouth to call out to her, then clamped it shut.

The biggest problem in their relationship was the fact that they were both stubborn assholes.

He sat in the sand a while longer, and he began to sweat. The sun beat down on his back and he could feel his skin beginning to burn, and he would of loved to wade into the water and dunk his head under. But that would mean she would win. So he remained.

She continued to float around in the water, ignoring him. But as he watched her, he realized that she was no longer playing this game with him. She was truly at peace, moving the water and allowing it to move her. Any sign of stress was gone and found his eyes glued to her as she moved gracefully through the ocean. She had already forgotten their little argument, and she wasn't going to pester him anymore. Because she was happy, and she had found tranquility in the water that flowed around her fingertips.

He stood and winced slightly as his freshly burnt skin stretched as he reached his arms up. He made his way to the water where he walked in to his waist before diving underwater. He resurfaced and sighed with content as the cold water soothed his skin. He should of put some lotion on before coming out.

He found a pair of blue eyes turned on him curiously, and he suddenly felt sheepish, as if he was intruding. They watched each other for a moment before she made her way towards him wordlessly. She placed her hands on his back and calling up some water he instantly felt relief as she healed him of his burns. She finished working and let the water drop back into the ocean, but she kept her hands on his back.

"You shouldn't of stayed in the sun that long." She said quietly.

"I know."

"We're both too stubborn."

"I know." He felt her lips on his shoulder.

"Maybe that's something we should work on."

"I agree." He turned and pulled her into his arms, placing a kiss in her wet hair.

She looked up and kissed him on the chin, causing a smile to spread across his face. Cupping her cheeks in his hands he kissed her, pulling her close and feeling one of her arms wrap around his neck.

One arm.

He broke the kiss with a frightened look on his face as she grinned at him devilishly and bent a wave towards him, sending him into deeper water.

Her laughter rang through the air and he couldn't help but smile as he swam back to shallow water. He probably did deserve that.

I'm sorry it wasn't very good, I'm having a hard time grasping their characters right now. I'll have to rematch LoK when I get a break from school.
