So this is just a REALLY short OneShot I came up with. I had the inspiration to write this because I just got my very own Link Cosplay Hat! YAY! :3 Hehe...anyway, I do not own The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo does...sniff. xD enjoyz!
:FLASH BACK:
"Link...please don't go..."
She held onto my arm tightly, tears threatening to fall from her beautiful eyes. We stood infront of the Castle Drawbridg. I had hoped to leave silently, avoiding this painful goodbye.
"I'm sorry, Zel." My eyes now beggining to water slightly. "But I have to do this."
I pulled her close and kissed her forehead. Sinking her face into my chest, she began crying softly. I always hated leaving her behind on my quests, but this time I was really dreading it. I had no idea when I'd be back with her, so I savored every second I had with her by my side.
She looked up at me and wiped her eyes. "When will you return?"
I closed my eyes. I knew she would ask me this, but I just didn't no what to answer her. "I'm not sure."
She began breathing heavily, I could tell how worried and upset she was. I held both her hands in mine and looked her in the eyes. "It's alright, I always come back to you."
Slowly I reached my hand up to my hat and slipped it off my head. I held it out infront of me, smiling slightly. "Could you hang on to this for me?"
She blinked a few times before taking it and holding it against her chest. She closed her eyes and let one stray tear fall off her face.
I put my hand on her cheek and gently placed my lips against hers. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back.
After a minute, we seperated and stared at each other. I tore my gaze from hers and quietly mounted my horse. She held her hand up and slowly moved it side to side. "Goodbye...my hero."
"Goodbye, my princess." I looked at her one final time before turning away and galloping off into the distance. I glanced back once or twice, and saw she was crying into my green kokori hat.
:END OF FLASHBACK:
That was a little over a month ago. Now I was back, standing outside her bedroom door. Impa stood next to me, her hand on my shoulder.
"She's carried that hat of yours around with her ever since you left." She gave me a small smile. "Never once did she leave it behind where ever she went."
I took a deep breath and quietly opened the door.
Zelda lay sleeping peacefully under her covers in bed, she snuggled my hat in her sleep.
A smile spread across my face when I saw her. I tip toed over to her, being sure not to wake her yet. I sat down next to her and leaned close to her face.
"Zel...I'm back." I whispered to her. She shifted to herself so she was laying on her back, the hat in her arms.
She moaned sleepily before her eyes fluttered open. A small gasp escaped her lips when she saw me. "...Link?" A smile appeared on her face and her eyes immediatly brightened. She jumped up and hugged me tightly.
"I've missed you so much!" I opened my mouth to say something, but was cut off when she began kissing me all over my face.
Impa chuckled from the doorway at the sight.
My face now a bright red color, I held her out infront of me and sighed happily. "I'm so glad I'm back."
She set my hat on top of my head and straightend it out for me. She giggled and leaned her forehead against mine. "Not as glad as me." She whispered before she kissed me on my lips.
