She sat cross-legged on the dewy grass, running her pale fingers over the blades. The sun shone gently on her bare shoulder as if attempting to tan her skin, now paler than ever. She closed her gray eyes against the glare of the sun, wincing against the pain. Her sunken cheeks were devoid of color and her bones jutted out in odd places for she shunned food lately. Her pink lips stood out as red against her pale face, parted in sadness. Tears were squeezed from her eyes and flew down her face just to get away from her eyes.

"Why did you have to die? Why did you leave me?"

The tombstone shone brightly in the sunlight. The name stood out, black on white:

Seeley Joseph Booth

Temperance Brennan's world collapsed and she ceased to be.

A/N: Well since this is terribly short, I'm not even sure you can call this a one-shot, its more of a tiny drabble. I may possibly write a prequel to this, so you all can find out how he died. :)
