The phone on the nightstand was buzzing and despite the heaviness in her limbs Regina managed to pick it up and answer.

"We're running away to the Bahamas, they're your problem now Snow," she grumbled.

"Well," the voice on the other end chirped. "I'll take the girl but not the boy, too much teenage attitude for me. Maybe if I leave him in front of the grocery store someone will feel sorry for him and take him home."

Dammit, the fairest of the all was getting harder and harder to provoke these days. She was getting wise to Regina's barbs and was learning to think on her feet, damn her. Regina took the phone away from her ear and glared at it to no effect.

Emma took it away. "Alright Mom, we're on our way."

"You're on your way, I'm staying in bed," Regina mumbled.

"Wrong answer," Emma said, poking her in the side.

"Where did you two run off to, anyway? I didn't think you would be gone this long."

Emma leaned back into the far too comfortable pillow and looked up at the bedroom ceiling. "We ran home to fool around."

Regina leaned up on her elbows, the bedsheet sliding down to almost expose her chest. She rose her eyebrow at Emma and a grin started to bloom on her lips.

"Emma! Ugh, I don't need to know that. You're getting just as bad as Regina. Her I expect to try to push my buttons."

"You asked. We saw an opportunity and we took it."

Regina's smile was full mega watt now and she flopped back down onto the bed, quietly chuckling.

"I know way more about your sex life than I should. Although, if you want to make another one of these darling little girls…"

"Okay, okay—we're on the way. See you in a bit." She ended the call, tossed the phone aside and sighed. "We have to go get them eventually, otherwise she may call the Sheriff on us."

Regina knew when to play the straight man. "But you're the Sheriff," she deadpanned.

"Then we're in the clear!" She exclaimed, waving her hands in triumph. "Grab your bathing suit, baby. We'll be on the beach by sunrise!"

"You go start the car, I'll be right there."

"You bet!" She jumped up and quickly started pulling on clothes almost as quickly as she had thrown them off.

Regina couldn't help but play along and started getting dressed as well, albeit a bit slower. This was why she loved Emma Swan; they always had fun.

Emma drove the Mercedes like a madwoman around the streets of Storybrook as they made their getaway, which somehow led them to the outdoor 4th of July party being held on the patio at Granny's.

Regina's dark eyes slid slowly over to Emma's. "This doesn't look like an airport, Princess."

"It doesn't, does it?" She leaned over the steering wheel and peered at the gaily lit patio, festooned with string lights and paper lanterns. "Oh well, will this work for you?" she asked, turning to grin at the mayor.

"I guess this works." She leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Come on, Swan. You owe me some fireworks."

Emma grinned, "Didn't I just give you some?"

Regina was already sliding out of the car and Emma hurried to catch up with her.
