Hagrid looked out the window of his hut. It was a dreary evening at Hogwarts. There was a slight drizzle that had set upon the area but it was also more than that. The war may be over, but there was still sadness around the grounds. Though three years had passed since the final battle, the castle, including his hut, had been rebuilt. But sometimes Hagrid could still see the battle raging when he looked outside. He could still see the dead faces of his friends and the shock of seeing Harry Potter submit to Lord Voldemort. Although the light had won, the darkness still lingered in the shadows at Hogwarts. Hagrid figured it's never really leave.

Harry came and saw him every 2nd Thursday. And often stopped in if he was at Hogwarts for ministry business. Although Harry's scar never hurt anymore life wasn't always what you'd expect. Harry had spent many evenings at Hagrid's hut talking about the war and the guild he had over the war and the deaths. Harry called Hagrid his "therapist" which Hagrid had no bloody idea what that meant. Harry said it was a muggle term but Hagrid was mostly just thankful for Harry's company.

Although sadness still lingered at Hogwarts, there was one shining part of Hagrid's day. A beautiful witch who he got to share company with. Hagrid hadn't really known love before, but this witch had stolen his heart. When the world was sad and recovering, she made him happy has a hippogriff. It all started with the repairs to Hogwarts which had resulted in them spending time together rebuilding walls and repairing windows. Hagrid never realized one could find out about someone by putting a bridge back together. He knew that while the war tore many people apart, it also brought many people together.

Hagrid looked at the clock. Hell, he needed to start the water for tea. She would be arriving soon for their evening cuppa. Hagrid set the table, fed the chickens out back (and the secret, baby Hippogriff he was keeping in the woods), and watered the pumpkins. Although Hogwarts was different, it would always be home. As he finished his evening chores, Hagrid took a moment to look out at the lake. He smiled out at the site of the sun setting on the lake- though dreary, it was still a beautiful site.

A movement caught his eye and he watched his witch slowly making her way down the hill to his hut. A beautiful sight, she was. He opened the door as he saw her getting closer and waited patiently for her to greet him on the steps.

"Evening, Minnie," Hagrid said as she approached.

"Good evening, Hagrid. We missed you at dinner tonight." Minerva said as she kissed Hagrid on the check and then entered the hut for their evening cup of tea.
