Elsa was once afraid of fireplaces when she was little. Why, those big meanies might melt her!

Then a few years pass, and as a big girl (already six!), she realizes that she has nothing to be afraid of, the monsters can't harm her now. In fact, the fireplaces should be scared of her! If she tries her very hardest, she can just barely put out the fire, and then Mama and Papa clap because they're so proud of their baby girl!

Then the accident happens. Priorities… shift.

In the silence where an open door used to be, Elsa longs for the days when a mere fire was beyond her powers.

Years pass.

In the whirlwind of emotions following the Great Thaw, where the joy of feeling is exceeded only by the joy of expressing, Elsa finds herself staring into the fireplace. Amidst overflowing exuberance, she discovers a flood of ambivalence.

Old memories, forgotten regrets, tarnished triumphs.

Then Anna klutzes in and drags Elsa off to her latest adventure. Did you hear that Kristoff knows how to ice skate like a pro? Could you teach me to skate, like amazing, so we can surprise skate on his birthday and I can really impress him while also maybe totally crushing him at his own game? You will? Thank you thank you thankyou thankyou-

Elsa smiles. They'll make new memories together. She wouldn't have it any other way.
