You should know things aren't always what they seem

Sirius Black's past is filled with events that are better off kept under lock and key, things he wishes that he could change, but it's too late now. Somewhere deep inside him, he always knew that he would end up like the rest of his family, no matter how much he tried to distinguish himself from them.

He can't show everyone how different from his family he was – is – when they don't want to see it themselves. They were setting him up for failure. But the weight of the world didn't seem so heavy when he was around his friends. Now, he's sitting alone in this cold cell, wishing he could tell the truth to one person.

Remus always saw the best in Sirius. But Remus probably thought that he killed James and Lily. Sirius doesn't blame him though; he may not have sold them out, but he did play his part. It is his fault that they are dead.

So, instead of wallowing in guilt, he tries to remember the good times he had with Remus, James and Lily. But with the Dementors flying around, all he remembers is all the stupid fights that he had with them over the years. Yet, it's just enough to keep him sane.

A/n- I'm not sure how I like it. But this was written for the 7 songs, 7 drabbles, 7 days challenge.
