Been having writer's block for my other story "The Reunion", but while I was thinking, I thought up of this small one-shot. I'll be writing about each "couple", but mostly Eddie and Jake since they're my favorite. :D
Reminders: I don't own the Boys vs. Girls. Phyllis Naylor Reynolds does. Though it's late for a Christmas story, I'm doing it anyways, deal with it!
Eddie just loves Christmas! Christmas to her was always special. She would always be the on to be the one to put up the star on top of the Christmas tree, ever since she was little. She loved the Christmas carols, the food, the presents, and most of all, the time you spend with your family and friends. Right now she was taking a walk to soak in the winter atmosphere. She went to the park where it was covered in snow that fell this morning. It was deserted since mostly everyone's at home, but she saw someone in a blue winter jacket that she recognized on the park bench… all alone. She slowly went up to him.
"Jake?" she asked, "What are you doing here? It's Christmas, shouldn't you be at home with your family?"
"Eddie?" he said finally looking up. "Shouldn't you be with YOUR family?" he asked. "Besides, Christmas is just a lame excuse for a holiday so people would spend money at stores."
"No It's Not! Christmas is a time for family and friends! You know, caring and giving that sort of thing? What's the matter with you?" she was furious now
He snorted "Puh-leeze don't tell me you believe in that stuff."
"Uhhh You are such a SCROOGE!"
"Whatever."
That was the last straw; she clenched her fist hard and punched him in the shoulder, hard.
"OWW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR!" he said rubbing his sholder, surprised that her punch actually went though 4 layers, maybe this was why he has a small crush on her.
"That was for dissing Christmas in front of me. Why are you like this? The rest of your family is excited about Christmas, why not you?"
"You really want to know?" He stood up. "I don't even know! Every year when Christmas comes by, I just lose my spirits; I just hate everything about it!" He walked up to her now. Eddie noticed that they were really close, but strangely, she didn't mind though.
"You know, it's not all bad, you just have to give it a chance." She said calmly, as if nothing happened. She looked up. "Hey Jake, look up". He did. There was a mistletoe right above them.
They looked at each other, and then they leaned and kissed each other for what it seemed like a year. When they separated, they were both so red.
"Ummm, I have to go now." Eddie said
"Yeah, me too." Jake managed to say.
Eddie left first while Jake watched her leave. Both would, of course, never talk about this again and would deny it if anyone asked, but Jake finally found that holiday spirit.
