A/N: I wrote this as a fourth part to the "Lament for Boromir" in 'The Two Towers' .. It was always one of my favorite pieces in the book, so I wanted to add on a part about the East. But I did write this back in '02 or '03, from my best guess, so I can't promise it to be amazing or anything, but upon re-reading it now that I'm older, I found I still liked it and wanted to share it. Hopefully it's okay and enjoyable. Thanks.
The East Wind
What news do you bring, O wind, under the westward skies?
Your whistling voice is now so mournful as it cries.
What sadness do you send me now that will throw me to my knees?
Yet you come to me unbidden, sighing through the trees.
East wind, you laugh, as you pass The Tower where he stood,
For he will not return to achieve glory as he should.
Boromir the Brave has gone where I may not tread,
And I feel that pain with every tear I shed.
Boromir, you drew your last breath, your King at your side,
Yet the East will still laugh at all you left behind.
