Back story: It's from an alternate universe where Bella didn't have Renesmee, and Jacob was torn away from her after she is transformed into a vampire. Bella starts to feel regret after many, many years, and she decides to leave the Cullens. She rights this note/poem to Edward before she leaves:
MY MISTAKE
You are poison but without you, I would not survive.
You are a drug, but with out you, I would not be alive.
He was my sun. He held me together when I fall apart.
He was my guardian, standing sentry to my heart.
You were my everything and when you left, I had nothing to live for.
He held my hand while I recovered, almost not needing you anymore.
I was almost healed when you came back. You begged and you groveled for me.
I was blinded by hope and love. Your weakness, I didn't see.
It pained me to see him suffer,
When I chased after my vampire lover.
I loved you both but I had to choose between you two.
It is too late, I am addicted. My mistake is that I chose you.
AN: I wrote this back when I was in my Twilight phase. I just couldn't see how she could leave someone like Jacob, a warm, durable sort-of human, who could protect her and still be a human for her. She could've lived a sort-of normal life, had kids w/o getting her stomach ripped open by said kids, and would've been able to be HUMAN with him. I didn't like how she gave up her humanity for him.
Hope you like it!
