Well, I wrote this at lunch while at school. It's definitely not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it's decent. I will write something better for these two eventually. I do not own Sukisho, nor do I own the characters. Random comment: I discovered when I was writing this that I don't know how to spell the word "squawking." It took me eighteen tries to get it right.

It was annoying, being the dormant personality. Sure, he had a body. A good one. He could run around, jump, climb things, and even hold his lover in his arms. When he was the one in control, that is. But he was the dormant personality. That brat Sora was the dominant one, so the times when Yoru was in control were few and far between.

Usually, he didn't mind. He was used to it by now, and being the dormant personality meant that it rarely happened that he had to deal with the idiots that made up the majority of the world's population. That was Sora's job. And the brat actually seemed to like it, for whatever unfathomable reason. The only people Yoru really came into contact with when he was 'out' were Ran and Sunao, or whatever asshole was messing with either of them or Sora. Because pounding jerks was his job.

Besides, it wasn't as though he didn't know what was going on. He was well aware of the world, watching through Sora's eyes and often making completely different judgments about it than the personality that he shared this body with did. Yoru was well aware of it when Sora gazed at Sunao in class rather than paying attention to the teacher, and that was something he didn't mind, since Sunao had the same face as Ran. He knew it when Sora did something stupid, which was something he didn't like. He also knew it the times that Sora made Sunao cry, which was something that he really didn't like, since it was like seeing Ran crying, and he hated for Ran to cry. There had to be some penalties for being so dense, surely.

The number one thing he disliked about being the dormant personality was that he rarely got to see Ran. Well, he saw him, but he didn't get to talk to him, to touch him. That would have driven him absolutely crazy if he weren't used to it. The fact that Ran was also a dormant personality made things all that much more difficult. The only upsides to this ordeal was that at least Ran returned his affections, and broke through to be 'out' as often as he could, and frequently tried to coax Yoru out. Ran was lucky; Sunao was much more willing to let him 'out' than Sora was willing to let Yoru 'out'.

Still, those times when they managed to be in control, those were like heaven. At those times, Ran was completely his, and he finally got to relieve all those pent-up tensions that being trapped within Sora's mind didn't allow him to release. Sometimes something would happen in the middle and Sora and Sunao would be pushed forward again, and their reactions were always hilarious.

Oddly, Sora and Sunao didn't seem to be able to see what went on when Yoru and Ran were in control, unlike how the latter two could. Thus it made things that much funnier when they realized just what their dormant personalities had been up to with their bodies. Sora often made weird squawking sounds and practically leapt across the room. Then Yoru got completely told off.

But it was worth it. Being able to hold Ran was more than worth it.
