Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate
"Pirate."
For all she knew, that was the last word Captain Jack Sparrow had ever spoken.
Accusatory, with a bit of pride, a smirk playing across his lips. His lips...how they had felt against her own. A freedom she now realized she had longed for, a passion she had never known. No, she hadn't been sorry. Not for that. At least her last memory of him would be the way he tasted; for she had felt the sea and the rum against her mouth. "Pirate."
She closed her eyes, trying to block all thoughts from her exhausted mind. In the morning, she would set out with the others to find him...
She was lulled into a gentle sleep as she dreamed. Jack Sparrow stepped into them, and his lips curled into a disbelieving, taunting smile that seemed to tell her that she was fooling herself.
