Light of my Life
"Baby girl wake up! Wake up, dammit!" Derek said screaming while looking down at what he thought was a lifeless body, of his soon to be forever wife, Garcia.
He had come home from work expecting to see her dressed up waiting to eat dinner, but to his surprise she was on the floor covered in blood. Looking around the room for some sort of answer as to why this had happened to her, he then checked for a pulse and realized that she had one, but it was very weak. He quickly called 911 as he hunched over her making sure she was still breathing.
"Garcia, baby girl come on open those beautiful eyes of yours," he said with tears in his eyes. He began stroking her beautiful blonde hair that was now covered in blood. As he sat beside her, he frantically looked around the room looking for something, anything, to tell who had done this.
"Come on, don't you give up on me! Stay with me, if you can hear me listen to me talk. Do you remember the first day we met? I do, I remember it like it was yesterday because it was the first day I looked into those amazingly beautiful eyes." he said with tears streaming down his face. "Do you understand what my life would be like without you? You are the only reason I get up and live everyday because I get to see you when your hair is messed up in the mornings," he paused as he sniffled, Or when you think you don't look good because you're just having a bad day. You can't leave me, I need you!" he screamed. He sat there with her, as the sirens got closer his hopes for her got stronger.
"You hear that baby girl? They're coming to save you," then he pulled her close to him and held her tight. As the EMS arrived, he picked her up and carried her outside the front of their house.
"Help! Someone help! She has severe head trauma and her pulse is getting weaker every minute." He called out to the arriving EMTs. The EMT's got her quickly into the ambulance.
"Now I work for the FBI, so you follow me and I will make sure that you have a clear path! Make sure that you stay right with me. We don't have a lot of time right now!"
As they made their way through the busy streets of their neighborhood, the nearest hospital was still fifteen minutes out and she had already lost over half of her blood supply. The EMTs tried their hardest to save her but before they could get the bleeding to stop it was far too late. Garcia had passed, and the love of her life, whom she was suppose to marry in eight days, had no idea that her blood loss had been so severe. Upon arrival to the hospital, Derek rushed over the the EMS to help in anyway they could. When he saw that white cotton sheet pulled over her he knew that it was far too late. He fell to his knees and just sat there staring at the sheet.
"I can't believe she is gone, she was the only light in my life and she is gone..."
