On the ninth day

Began a new play

I met my Rose

And our friendship fast arose

Through trial and fire

We ran without tire

Facing daleks and cybermen

Her brilliance shining again and again.

A warmth in my hearts

Dulled my old, hardened art.

No sooner had the bad wolf struck,

Leaving us fresh out of luck.

But then the Rose bloomed

Soaking in TARDIS energy to save the doomed.

The clock rewound, the pain forgives

And at last, for once, everybody lives.

The energy swells,

In Rose it can no longer dwell.

The ninth day ends

As I bear the deadly load of my friend.
